Given the match length and search times for matches it will take a little time though that is for sure.

Apollo and Turtle Bay seem like hot spot planets if you are Steiner for a defend. All my matches have been on those so far.

But finding 20 matches before the weekend ends will be the real struggle.

Ok but when I start MWO do I need to go into the Faction menu at the top? Then select a faction? I just don't want to join any, I have no knowledge in BT universe so I don't know any faction so it would be hard to select one... I just prefer to remain a lone wolf.

You have to be in a faction, but you could choose a contract that's not permanent.

Click either the Defend or Attack notification that flashes in the lower right corner of the User Interface/Mech Lab. Then click either the Defend or Attack button on the launch/Lobby window and wait.
Once everyone gets used to it, matches will load quicker.
Nice way to promote CW, PGI !
Keep up the good work.

You aren't so much 'joinging' a faction as being paid by them to fight their enemies. Just pick a house (if you want to use IS mechs) or a clan (for clan mechs) sign up for a 7 day contract and off ya go for the points ya want. Dropping solo last night I had anywhere from 1-12min waits for matches. I do think the IS vs Clan planets get matches faster for solos since they combine houses to fight the clans.
You can break the contract at any time. After joining yesterday I checked, and to break a 7 day contract would cost 200,000 cbills. Not sure how that goes down as you time passes. But you will earn more than that as you play this weekend, took me only 4 matches to get the first 3 cbill rewards from the house loyalty points yesterday.
