Once again PGI, you took IGP's route on this, maybe you should have been more honest with us and told us it needed more testing so we have to wait until after the holidays... or better yet, NOT made this challenge only very few of us could do, congrats to those who can find a match, let alone score well enough to get a point...

I still find it funny that people were leaving the game because of no CW and this is what they were given.... again, PGI, I hope you are postponing your vacations to fix these issues with YOUR product

Got my first 11 done last night... out of 12 total matches I played. The non qualifying one was an enemy fast base rush.

Look for updates on which planets people are hitting for faster matches.

ETA: I am only solo dropping.

As i mentioned in an above post in this thread, getting a group would be a lot simpler if the only restriction was belonging to the same faction and not dependant on being in the same unit.
It would be so easy using Comstar to find a 12man in the same way as the player base has done for all the previous challenges.

i already liked a post with that BUT then you also get people that lack teamplay or other important things.

it would make waiting time shorter but it still lacks organization within the group to be successfull. thats why you should get a unit and participate in CW with that because you NEED training as a team not for just one evening. you need to stay together for weeks or months.

I know this is a game and I know balance is important but you should never attack a strongly held position without 3 to 1 odds in favor of the attacker. I have seen the defenders win more often. But.. IS lights in a swarm is a viable strategy (but is low scoring).

12man "Patchwork" teams have been steam rolling 12man "premades" (who HAVE been training together) ,with a quick tactical briefing in the 50 seconds it takes to start the match, for months in this group queue.
And the same has been happening already in the CW side of the game.
While i might agree that for some, team training may help, it most certainly isn't NEEDED.
You might be in for a shock the 1'st time you run into a well organised "patchwork" team who decide to work together, if you haven't done so already you most likely will soon enough. ;)

i have been there and done it regularly. but against well trained competitions like us you wont come far with patchworks (which doesnt mean that you cant beat us, having bad games can happen anyday at any unit after all :D)
we didnt even use TS in the patchworks and had our tactic set in 5 seconds^^ rest was *gaming-intelligence*
but that is just possible if you have top players all on themselves.
the patchworks i have been in consisted of mainly top 15 tournament players etc. then its easy to roll hard since not every organised 12-man gang has the same skill lvl than these patchworks that a pretty much a one-man-army on themselves.

This challenge is pretty easy, thanks for the bribe to sit in the cue waiting for games.

To those of you complaining... ITS A BRIBE TO GET YOU TO TEST IT.

finally 23 hours into the challenge got into a match, not hard to make the 80 match score, but 23 hours for 1 fight, with an average of 15-20 minute wait times before I cancel search.

How are you guys grouping in unit to drop, ours would not allow us to drop as a group, we had to drop separately....

Here is a word that we could both agree on, Consistency .
That's what regular team training will offer. :D

Make your group from the unit tab not the friends tab.

before the challenge we had a rabble group of clanners against a premade Davion.... moron opened the dorr for the enemy in 20 seconds flat, we still beat the premade as they were not using any kind of tactics, it was all spawn, run for nearest door till dead and repeat....

premades do not mean anything if they are not organized, and clan vs IS is meaningless too, a group of bad clanners is still a group of bad players and fairly simple to defeat

@HARDKOR: Test sitting in queue?

To continue on my previous post... Finding game 6 took somewhere over 57 minutes and unfortunately I failed by a couple of points, because my side was sadly unable to secure a win.

As for game 7... It never materialized... I got distracted by other matters for a bit at 207+ minutes of waiting (yes, that is well over 3 hours, I was curious) and when I got back, I had been disconnected.

I am going try again, just because I am still curious, not because I have any hope of ever getting even 5 points. Under the current circumstances I find it quite possible that when the challenge ends I will be looking at a round zero points.

Back to queue now... :/

If you guys don't find a match in 5 mins of waiting in lobby leave and join a new one that pops up for the notification.
Don't site on a solo planet.

As for you lone wolves, you can join CW match like everyone else.

5-6 min wait in rooms then leave and join the next Planet notification.

Will get you games 1 every hour

Yeah, don't wait for extended periods. I find the odds of getting a game goes down the longer you have waited. 15 min max, really more like 10.

We're having trouble finding units on the other side.

Good thing, 3 games 3 points.

Bad thing : 2 days, 3 games LOL

I'm scoring 2 more and then back to normal games, I'm earning much more there (wasting my premium I got with sales too).

Glad I'm not alone in the endless queue.

Another bummer is the lack of a zoom function on the keyboard. I use a marble mouse without a scroll wheel, so I can't zoom into the planets to make easy selections.
Changing the keyboard binding to zoom doesn't work either!

Try clicking the Hide overlays button on the bottom? There's a handy little planet selector that pops up showing your available battles. Will still need to hope and wait for allies, but at least you can pick planets. Might not show up if you're not in a faction, and there won't be active battles during the ceasefire periods.

Maybe they will extend the tourney so as to keep inspiring heavier CW activity despite the wait times. More metrics to use for potential bug fixes and more happy players can only be a good thing.
