So what should a Steiner loiyalist do? Drive a light mech? I would rather drop this game.

Speed is important on Attacks and even if you pick Defend you may have to attack the Orbital Cannon to Defend your Faction.

You also don't have to take lights. It's 60 tons per mech. Split that as you want; you can take a full 4 heavies.

Take two locusts, suicidebomb with them at the very start, ride your atlas to victory for the rest of the match.

For the sake of Steiners everywhere, it should be 250tons, so they can drop w/ 2x Atlas and 2x Baby Atlas (Commando).

Hell, make it 400 so they can stack atlas drops, my Storm Crow would be very happy,

No 4x Atlas is not allowed...Tonnage limits. You Steiner Scouts will have to learn to add! :P

ya gotta do something with those Commando's that Steiner loves as well.

Seriously though, the entire "Steiner Scout lance" is a bad in-universe joke that pokes fun at the fact that steiner uses more tonnage then skill. (As their Mechwarriors aren't that good in the fiction.) That many people who don't know the fiction well enough take entirely out of context.

Reality is that while they manufacture a lot of Assaults, they don't SOLELY pilot them in every situation. Commando's, Griffen's, Shadow hawks, are all Steiner staples. More so then the Atlas' that everyone loves to associate with them.

You posted on the forums, what did you expect? You also reference it as one of your options so he was just reinforcing it. Don't complain about the egg in your face if you asked for it.

Need a plan
Attack (the most challenging)
Have to push the heavy's through on second wave resist the tendency to run in one at a time
1 atlas is a target 2 atlases is a formidable force (never go alone)

If you get killed only go far enough forward to laze targets then when you get a lance push
Heavy and assaults job is to kill mechs

If you can get a numbers advantage then you can push the next objective

I just built a sapper medium so I will let you know how it works in a few

2 heavies, 2 mediums is more reasonable, can't have everyone driving around in craptastic 60 ton heavies.

I've seen a few DDCs and at least 1 RS. The team I saw fielding them likes to throw out light rushes so they tend to have lots of heavier mechs too.

Yes, let's have clanners push with 3x Timberwolves and 1x Mist Lynx.
