The designers are following a standard battleground type for maps, very basic frankly. Defenders defending a fort with frankly a ridiculous amount of turret back up and attackers with nothing.
What is going to be a very basic strategy for defenders will be to push out to the attackers spawn points and camp them. The turrets will do a number on anything less than 50 tons trying to attack the base.
How to avoid this scenario?
Allow everyone to HOLD when they drop. Give 30 second drop windows and allow people to opt into a drop or wait. WHY? Because if you are getting camped, you can have everyone hold and drop en mass to break the camp.
