Steps to reproduce: I got shot. I try not to let it happen too often. If necessary, I can attempt to reproduce it by getting shot in the side torso more often. That seems to be difficult to do in a Crab, though.
Reproduction rate: I don't know, it unfortunately hasn't happened again. I wish it would happen every match, though. (Please?)
Description: Lost a side torso on my Crab. Lost the lasers in said side torso. However, I apparently have a backup torso, as my arm remained attached and functional, along with the LB10-X and AC/5 in said arm, until the arm got destroyed later on. Screenshot located in the link below.

I also once had an arm destroyed twice in a Hunchback. It blew off, saw the explosion, heard the message regarding lost equipment... and yet it kept working. I took some more damage there, and it eventually blew up again, this time for real.

Never had it happen before until a couple days ago in my AS7-S. Lost my right torso but my right arm was still active.

They can, killed a jenner once with a gauss rifle in a "ghost limb". The weapons work perfectly fine, usually the arm is cherry red though and if someone looks at you funny it finally falls off.

The confusion might have come from the first implementation of the re-join function. When you rejoined a match after having lost arms they'd be back on your 'mech with all their weapons but the weapons wouldn't do any damage.

Bug has been around for ages, and like most bugs in this game, will continue to hang forever

That was slightly different, in that the weapons were there but the arms / armour were not
