I'm aware that the UAV Upgrade, Improved Artillery Strike and Improved Air Strike pilot skills are effectively "unlocks" -- once you unlock them with GXP, that's -- they're applied automatically, and you don't have to buy or mount a module on your mech to receive their effects.

Are there others? Is Cool Shot 9 by 9? Is Improved UAV?

Everything in the 'Pilot Modules >> Consumables >> All' menu, once unlocked, give a boost to the relevant consumable without additional cost.

So yes, both the 9 by 9 and the Improved UAV just make the Cool shot 9 and UAV consumables better, They don't open access to a second consumable type.

Splendid, thanks.

Also, there are a LOT of range extensions and cooldowns for the various weapons. Once unlocked (via gxp) the upgrades are permanent.

Well yes, but you do have to equip the relevant modules on your mech, whereas the consumable skills there's no associated module -- you just unlock them and their effects apply to your consumables. This was something that confused me at first -- I unlocked a bunch of range extensions etc then didn't buy the modules!
