TDR-9S and TDR-5SS i think are going to be givens. Im not too sure about the remaining 110 tons.. wolverines seem the obvious choice but they are all a bit reliant on the single arm so im not sure... maybe a Dragon 1N for the OP dakka and a Hunchback.

another alternative for me might be BNC-3M, TDR-9S + 80 tons of something i cant decide on.. really want the BNC in there but its hard to find 2 mechs i like that fit 80 tons, since im not much of a light pilot. Might have to just learn..

correct i got all 3 Banshees mastered and i would love to take the 3E but i can not squeeze it in....i would need to rely on two light which i do not want to...

I think assaults are not that great in the mode, mobility is a huge bonus.

I usually drop, in this order:
1) TDR-9S for long range engagement at beginning.
2) Optionally a CAT-C1 for missile support should the situation require it else I keep the TDR-9S or go to point 3.
3) Raven-2X as finisher, surprisingly useful in its quirks-driven configuration.
4) TDR-5SS wubster for final phase be it final push, final defence or even when spawn camped at the end (a bad surprise usually for the campers).

The less satisfying is the CAT-C1 so far, I have yet to find a better alternative.

My Deck:
TDR 5SS ( 7MPL)
TDR 5S ( 2 LL; 4MPL )
TDR 9S ( 3LL; 1ML )
Last one could be up to 55. WVR 6R ( 2ac5; 1ML ) or SHD ( 2AC5; 1LPL ) or BJ1X ( 6ML; 2MPL )

My usual deck is.
uac20@4ersml adder 3T AC
4ssrm6@cap adder 4T SRM
2uac10@3srm4 WHK 8.5T AC 2T SRM
2uac10@2erml@cap@tc1 WHK 9.5T AC

You do not need to go laservomit to be useful.

STK-4N
TDR-9SE or the 5SS, but CW generally favors longer range builds than the MPLs
WVR-6K
RVN-2X

Yes, you do.

I ultimately wish PGI would mix up the tonnage every 2-3 weeks. Say go from 210 to 280.

Working on my alt account to build up what I want after PTS goes live. It's simple, won't overheat, high mounted and only uses one weapon type. 40 tons of UAC/5 ammo should last you the entire match. Cons? They move at 64. If that's bad then you can just throw out a couple of tons of ammo and up the engines and get them to around 70ish.

2x Jagermech DD with 3x UAC/5 (10 tons ammo) (65+65=130 tons)
2x Shadowhawk 5M with 2x UAC/5 (10 tons ammo) (130+55+55=240 tons)

Enjoy your Dakka Warfare.

Best possible depends on who you are playing with and if you are attacking or playing defense.

2 Stalker-4Ns times 12 players is going to mess up anybodies days when people focus fire.

More reliable to bridge attack and defense is the 3x 5SS and a Griffin-2N combination. Incredible output efficiency especially in grouips of 8+

End of the day most of it simply boils down to whether or not you and/or the people you drop with have any interest in playing as a team. If you have players that don't want to push against the enemy it really doesn't matter what you drop with.

Lowering it from 240 can punish new guys who just finished building up their first deck. For veterans with 100-200 mechs it's a non-issue.

Raising it is fine since it won't invalidate existing decks but lowering it will exclude some guys who don't have a large stable.

In answer to this Necro thread Defense deck where no light is needed, and your teams taking enough ECM 4 Rifleman soon

Your drop commander wants a jumping light, and you want ECM, Firestarter, Cataphract 0XP, Battlemaster 1S or Stalker 4N, Wolverine 6K

Thud 5SS, Thud 5SE, Cataphract 0XP, BJ1X another good option.

Clan Deck

Hellbringer, Hellbringer, Timberwolf, Artic Cheater, can switch a Hellringer for a Ebon jag for variety

This is a topic I have given a lot of thought. I've also experimented with a variety of combinations. Currently the following drop deck works best for me. First drop - Battlemaster 1S with 4 er large lasers. With quirks and range module it has a optimalrange of 910m.Good for sniping as iat the start most teams exchange fire at distance.
Second drop - Jagermech 6S with 4 large pulse lasers. Medium range, bit of brawling and sniping.I know,it is a bit hot but you need to manage it. The same with allmy other mechs.
Third drop- Thunderbolt 5S with 6 medium pulse lasers for bawling. Now the brawlfighting is in full wing.
Last drop - Blackjack 1X with 7 medium pulse lasers. To finish off!

The best IS CW drop deck at 240 tons is without a doubt. 3 thunderbolts and a black jack. at 265 4 thunderbolts. All done.

For IS I run a Banshee, 2 Black Knights, and a Locust with 5 tons left over.
For Clan I run 2 Executioners and 2 Arctic Cheetahs with 5 tons left over.

Basically only lasers on anything because I always run out of ammo in CW when I use it, so I decided to just go ahead and not cap my damage.
