Went through all the factions and I'm unable to pick any for any period of time. Anyone else having issues?

Are you in a unit?
Only the unit leader can set the unit's faction.
Note that this can cause problems if the unit commander is gone for a while. For example, PGI recently reset all the unit factions to nothing, and if your unit commander is not around, you won't be able to enter CW because you have no faction.
This odd feature / issue / whatever is not explained anywhere in the game - it's probably on the forum somewhere - but it can cause confusion since it simply looks like you can no longer pick a faction.
If you're not in a unit, I'm not sure what the problem is, but hopefully this info helped.
