Errm, no.

Victor can mount an Ac20 and have firepower to spare. Likewise it can put on two UAC5s and still boat lasers and missles.

Victor definitely has an edge in firepower.

Not an XL400 Victor...

I like how the clanners ignored the several posts about their comrades saying the gargoyle had their highest kdr.

Maybe piloting is what it actually comes down to?

Hehe.

Yeah I think alot of posts are based off of paper stats and lots of pre-existing assumptions about what they think should be the case. Of course, these sorts of attitudes exist in all games so no surprises there.

Anyway as to the Gargoyle, it actually does pretty well but it just don't stand out in any way. I mean it is kind of like vacuum cleaner, it sucks up the dirt but no one is going to get excited about owning one. I think alot of evaluations are based on this, lets call it,"Feeling" or "Vibe" the mech gives off because to be honest, even if it preforms fairly well, the Gargoyle is never going to be a mech I will chose to play just for fun.

Edit: I remember the word I was looking for to describe the Gargoyle......UNINSPIRED. Mech performs well but there is just nothing about it that inspires you to play it.

Both the Summoner and Gargoyle could get speed/agility/firepower (ie faster rof) and survival quirks.

No tonnage quirks though. Both these mechs are supposed to be brawler/dueler mechs, so a bit more agility and they could be very nasty in fights.

Giving them boring tonnage bonuses (ie Endosteel) so they can fight the same way as all the other mechs in their tonnage range would be a very uncreative method of making them more efficient however.

Go Wubgoyle:
GAR-PRIME

I couldn't make the Prime suck less... but this is the best I could come up with when going full energy.

It helps reduce the facetime the mech normally needs, and it's probably better for the "locked it role" it has over competing options.

The Timberwolf and Hellbringer will do it better, but is it worth bothering with those options? Probably not. The Gargoyle is the perfect platform for a strict Wub build.

Yea... it's still a sad mech.

For reference, you couldn't do this better on a Stormcrow. It can't fit more than 21 DHS with 6 CMPLs.

Oh it's by no means a nightmare as some make it sound to be, just not very diverse due to the very limited weight and hardpoints.

Yeah, dude, I fully expect they'll break canon and put endo steel on the Gargoyle... Did you even think before you answered?

Yeah man I fully expect they'll break canon and make Inner Sphere 'mechs more customizable than Clan 'mechs, and make Clan 'mechs have locked in equipment that can't be removed, with exceptions where mentioned in lore (IE: Adder and its flamer)

This 'mech eats XL 'mechs (Not including lights because it's still pretty clumsy), I've run my Prime with 7ERML and more heat sinks than the D with 8ERMLL, It just lasts longer in a fight in my experience, and has higher cooling rate than the Hellbringer.
An XL 400 Victor would have trouble with this 'mech saying as it eats through armor and internals faster than you can say 'Ouch my internals are hurty'. But the Prime variant wiht it's standard omnipods are terribad, not enough tonnage for it, so it needs severe quirks to the arms and whatnot. But the other omnipods are fine. Other than the D's left arm.

You cannot honestly use the Gargoyle-Prime's arms in full, w/o creating a terribad build as a result.

At best, the Gargoyle-Prime's Right arm is more useful if you ever wanted a ballistic. Otherwise, it's full on energy.

Go Wubgoyle go!
