So all the planets showing no attack or defense contracts means a cease fire? Is this Cease fire a daily thing? How does it work?

Yes daily. The killing will recommence in a matter of minutes. Do not be alarmed.

Everyday:
At 8:20pm PST, the map goes into a ceasefire, no one can attack or defend. This is your 40min bio, shower, and food restocking break.
At 9:00pm PST, the map switches the planets over to the new respectful(excluding the clans) owners and the fight continues.
