If I did something stupid and die inside the first minute (took a shortcut across an open plain and got sniped/LRMed to death by the enemy heavy lance, sprinted off to do recon in a light and jumped off a ridge right in front of the enemy assaults, etc) then probably I haven't done enough to warrant waiting until the end of the fight. I quit, pick another mech, and play another match while I wait for mech #1 to finish being "in-game".
If I've actually *done stuff* in the match, even if it looks like being a loss, I'll probably wait 'til the end and collect all of my loot.
In scenario 2, I take a quick look around the available mechs to spectate. If someone is playing well (or just interestingly) then I'll watch. If it's all fairly vague, I do something else while I wait for the match to end.

ah, thats what hurt the income then.
lesson learned.
Pity, If you have a dozen mechs, you really do not have time to sit around for 5+ minutes for the match to draw to a close.
5 times, that almost half an hour of real life, OR a couple more battles.
There are times, when I'll really lay out the damage, sacrifice myself. leave too early, come back to see we won (my daily x2 is gone) and I've gotten 400 xp
hurts most grinding out this three pack of timberwuffs

Wait, so you have to spectate the match to completion to get all of the Exp and cash? Thats ridiculous. I just want to get into the next game. >.>

You still get everything you earned up to the point you left.
You get the W/L values regardless of when you DC.
This was done to prevent suicide farmers from simply splashing the whole enemy team with an ERLL and DCing.

Otherwise death would be meaningless. There is nothing more annoying than people who die fast and quit right after dying.

Hate to disagree with a brother, but that isnt accurate (assuming I understand you correctly).
You get what you earned up to that point, and the W/L points, as stated above. What you lose is any assists for kills made after you leave.
FTR, if you are grinding mechs, it's good to hang around if you did well, otherwise yes, move to the next mech. If you are grinding Cbills, then move on immediately. Yes you will miss some by leaving, but more than make up for them by getting into another match and getting more damage, kills etc.

Another thing, is that you don't get ANY of your rewards, until the match is over. So if you leave early, you have to wait anyways until the match is done, for your XP and C-Bills to update.

This is important. You wouldn't get your earnings upon leaving the match because the match isn't over yet and it doesn't know if you won or lost.

Turn your mouse sensitivity down, it’s too high. A very common mistake. It’s in settings, move the sliders to the left to about 1/4 or 1/5 and give that a shot.
For the OP, if you want better earnings, live longer and do more damage, it’s waaaaaaay more efficient than leaving and dropping again. Spectating is probably the most valueble tool to make yourself a better player to earn more. Rushing in doing damage on a suicide will pay poorly in exp and cbills, cause a horrible w/l ratio and generally piss off the better players whose time you are wasting and match you are throwing. If you are so eager to grind cbills in this fashion, what are you going to do with them, buy another mech to divebomb in? Maybe you should be playing a heavier mech and staying with your team. You should not be dieing so long before the match end every game.

Thread started 2014.
And yes you will get all the same rewards no matter what you do after death.
