Long waits, little or no knowledge of whats to be done at the beginning, followed by a steady trickle of pubbies strolling into concentrated fire from orgnaized groups with 6 or more mechs at a go and it's often a roll.
Clan mechs just trudge through everyone to the target and the game is over in the first wave due to their durability, bu mostly the lack of coordination on the losing teams side.
So, from my perspective it hasn't been particularly fun at all. But....it's beta...and beta around here can literally last years.

Defending is easy to get 80 pts, as your job is to kill mechs. Attacking means you need to do a good bit of damage, use arty/air strikes, and UAV usually adds to your final score as well.

I'm mostly just relieved I managed to finally complete the challenge (during which, a number of matches ended in a matter of minutes due to cheesy clan mech base rush tactics after I waited 30+ minutes to get in a game) to get an actually decent chunk of c-bills & GXP so I don't have to grind so much to build new mechs or further upgrade existing ones with new modules.

The only time it is "easier" to acquire the points necessary is when you are actually playing defense.
It is NOT the obligation of the attacking force to "get the points necessary" for the challenge while winning the objective. The objective is NOT about killing all 48 mechs... it's all about destroying the base/gun generator. That's it.
If anything, finishing off the gun ASAP gives one the opportunity to get a "defend planet" while still being the attacker. It's ironically something rather functional.
