For the first time in a long time I got caught by an arty last night. Teammate called it on voip and I put the throttle to the floor. It cored me But I still got another kill and ended the match alive. Without the voip call I would not have survived i am sure but in the hundreds of matches between the last time I got whacked and now I would not call it a problem. Even when spammed hard its more a a nuisance than anything.

I carry them and use them maybe every 10 matches when appropriate and I am sure it will be effective or when being charged I will put it on my head and reverse.

It's no where near a problem.

Look, i am not calling experiencies. But the system is awful. Truely awful. It's impented on a rush. Atleast it feels like it.
We still have do work with a half biased system. How can you call it rolewarfare if anyone can carry it to their use?

There is not even a single divider of grouping modules on support, striker or assault to name a few examples.

I think some people had some fun times on C.W.

No changes since last year.

Point is to you the damage etc cetera may be fine, but the system behind it is utterly a joke.

I actually like the Consumables.

The answer to the spam is not to nerf or remove them though. It's to add more and increase the diversity.

Case in point, consider the following:

1) Decoy Consumable

2) Single Mine

3) Smoke Artillery

4) Chaff

5) Flare

6) Helicopter/VTOL Support

7) Light Tank Drop

8) Infantry Drop

9) Pop Smoke

10) Reserve JJ Fuel

Add these in, and you will see much less Arty and Air Strikes. Think of the possibilities! Taking a zone in Conquest? Call in helicopter support! It can be a Light chopper that hovers in the air over the target zone for 90 seconds (think of a floating turret). The same goes for a Light Tanks (think stationary turret).

Have you taken a zone in Conquest? Call in Infantry! Infantry armed with Inferno-tipped missiles will parachute into the zone and defend it for 120 seconds. Lasers, MGs, and Flamers would be the most effective means of killing them.

Caught in the open? Pop smoke to hide your Mech (Heat vision will still detect you, but it would work on hot maps that are usually pretty open anyways). Or, call in a smoke strike from artillery for a wide-range smokescreen.

Missiles getting you down? Pop chaff to instantly break any target lock and buy 5 seconds before the lock can be reestablished!

JJs don't have enough fuel? Get a Cool-Shot-style JJ booster that refills your fuel gauge! That can really save your legs if you fall from too high up!

Plant a Decoy to provide false IFF reading to the enemy and lure them into a trap!

Need to close off a chokepoint? Drop a single Thundershock Mine! Deal 10 damage to the leg(s) of whatever Mech runs across it.

Lastly, is it too dark? Pop a flare to illuminate the battlefield and ruin your enemies' night vision!

There are so many possible options; it doesn't have to be just strikes! Strikes add a level of detail and immersion that I would hate to see go. They also aren't very overpowered any more (I see UAVs and Cool Shots taking their place nowadays). Adding new Consumables would diversify things a bit so that we aren't stuck with the same ol', same ol' while continuing to add a bit of diversity to the mix. :)

Agreed. More a nuisance than anything else.
I wouldn't object to role based changes tho, I use them mostly on lights anyways.

Nightmare has the right idea. I like the idea of bring 4gw tactics into the game. Dropping mines or IEDs would be great. Cant remember the game but you could plant sticky bombs and IR beam triggers to block an enemy's rush.

I say bring more consumable nastiness into the game.

Lets get deviant.

See, the better solution is more consumables, not less. :D

Necro or just keeping a thread alive forever, I like this idea, at least to the point where you could help define your chosen role beyond dps or... dps. It'd at least give us more things we could utilize in game, and even give flamers a use, with infantry to torch and all.
