its not a unheard of feature or even a new aw inspiring and game changing 2014 idea. global chat would help us with a lot of stuff... ie. real time CW drops........ just to name one in particular.

real time chat rooms for general, new players, and the clans/houses/faction. it would make life easier for many things. yes.... it might not be friendly for your 9 year olds but thats why you have mods..... and.... the 9 year old is not paying the bills....... o_0

anyway being douchie aside. global chat is a must have in any PVP game.

so pretty please!!! with urbie on top.

Global chat has been addressed by the devs lots of times, including in the recent town hall meeting with Russ.

It is logistically harder to implement than most people realize, keep in mind not every game uses the same kind of communication & data system. Not every online game has global chat, and not just because some games are censoring their playerbase (ie Hearthstone with an intentional lack of chat)

i would beg to differ that there are more PVP games with global chat then not; at this point i almost feel like a global chat system is standard by now, whether it is hard to implement or not. it is kind of like cars with air bags today.

since you are saying it is hard to implement, im guessing it isnt a feature from crytech?

crytech has nothing to do with that. actually you could implement some kind of irc server and there you go but as always those things need manpower.

It isn't even that hard to build something like this, but you need dev time to design, code and implement it.
This will take time and ressources And you have to free those ressources from other things like bugfixing or map-/mechmaking or whatever. And that's where you start giving priorities to projects and I doubt global chat will land on a high spot on that list.

If a simple Russian MOBA game such as Prime World can have Global chat, then PGI can damn well build one too, if they set their mind to it.

1. PGI implements global chat
2. Everybody and their grandmother turns it off because of all the idiots spamming it
3. ggclose

Better suggestion - Faction chat.
Would be useful to coordinate attacks/defending without alt-tabbing and looking for a silly way to do it via third party stuff.
Makes sense too - to have contact with the other active, currently available faction units.

Again:
Faction chat.

if #2 was true then you wouldnt see other people using it in other games. in game lobby global chat rooms should not be running across your screen. it has been for quiet some time now, a in game lobby window you click to open.

even with all the spam, you can ask basic questions and there are always people willing to answer. how sure am i? (throwing out numbers without proof here) im 100% sure............ every in game lobby global chat i have ever used has been useful even with all the spam in there, unless the game is dead (has zero population).

the one reason it is a must in all pvp today is because it is real time feed back in the same package from the community itself.

Global chat is a terrible idea...as anybody that's been to Jita in EVE can attest to.

Faction specific chat and the ability to invite non-friends into private rooms, on the other hand, would greatly enhance the CW experience.

Seriously.. it's like trade chat in wow... for the most part, you still want to turn it off. Most of the time.
General chat is bad idea and going to be full of ******** ****.

If you haven't been there... I am happy for you, serously even
