I've been trying to find a Dakka mech that best suits me. I've done Blackjacks, Dragon, and Jagger, as well as the wolverine, and I can't seem to find one with enough dps and/or a good defense to hold up against clans during CW (On regular matches I wreck everything ;) ). Could someone please direct me to some good builds they have on Smurfy?

There is a deep part of me that wants to recommend a Raven 4X with a AC20 to you...just for the fun factor. XD

What is it about the BJK/Jager you have found is not fitting? What is your setups with them?

For the Black Jack I run a XL Engine with 2 AC/5s and 7 tons of ammo along with a Med laser, and as much armor as I can carry. The Jagger Is just a too common of a Dakka mech, I mean, It has the Damage, but it gets pretty boring to just eat people up with AC/5s, and then run out of ammo and then have to die. I'd like to have something with variety. I'm maybe thinking of running the Banshee with AC/5 Quirk, That way I can pack on ALOT of ammo and some good energy Weapons.

Ahhhhh. The BJK is a hard one to Dakka with for me, and I run the same setup prettymuch. Run out of ammo more often then I do die, but I rarely do much in the game other than act as a fire support system with legs.

I would suggest the Hunchback as a fun dakka mech. Just for the fun of it, and few run the multiple-AC/2 model. All your armament in one section of your body does make it a prime target. But the sound, and literal feeling of it firing is amazing. You won't be as capable though as a normal AC/10-20 model. But its still effective enough.

Most of my experience is with smaller mechs. So. Can't very much give you a great synopsis on bigger dudes to roll. Just know I love my Ballistics focused Grid Iron and 4H/4G.

Hope someone else can come in and give you some more info! Mine is quite limited at the moment.

FIREBRAND - Use this every day and it doesn't get the most damage (average around 500) but it eats CTs.

JM6-A - Only thing I could come up with for dakka. Personally I did the grind for this variant with JaegerLurm

And my favorite - Big Arrow

As for Blackjacks, not enough tonnage to go with anything besides the single AC20 or dual AC2s. Honestly I'd rather laser boat them or...

Do you Wub Wub?

The current map design in no way favors dps dakka builds, adapt or wait until the gameplay changes.

Really now? I've managed to master the art of poptarting during defense on the cold map. I Just want to have a new dakka mech because it just gets boring to have the same mech with the same results. Something new would be nice...

With Dakka by the way for poptarting, no jump jets needed

That's only true if you're playing top tier l33t competitive, which is not the case of 99% of the player base.
For PUG games, either solo or grouped, dakka is extremely effective (if your build is decent and you know how to use it).

My pick: DRG-1N (this is a build for CW, with more ammo than needed on 12v12).

edit: please don't mistake "dakka" for "ballistic". Dakka is supposed to shoot fast. AC/2 is dakka (but pretty useless), UAC/5 is dakka. AC/10 is not dakka. Nor is AC/5, unless quirked.

AC10 is just mellow dakka. Like the bass drum in a jazz tune. :P

BNC-3E . Had some of my best matches in this game with this mech... granted they were a month or so after the Banshee was released and dakka was still dominant then.

Currently testing a BJK with 2x MLs and 2x UAC5s with a XL225. The only down side is that it only carries 4 tons of ammo, so you have to learn to conserve your ammo, which is why I don't shoot at Lights with my UACs and instead just poke at them with my MLs.

Even though you don't have a lot of ammo it sure as hell can unleash a lot of hurt in a short time.

If we look at Clans, dakka is still good. I don't have any Daishis, but I do run my SMN-D occasionally.
