I believe it wasn't redesigned from the Vulture, they simply used the schematics of the Vulture to fix some issues the Bushwacker had. Something about engine shielding.

that's because it was in prototyping phase before the Clan Invasion, but they could not get the narrow profile to work with an XL engine. It was by studying the similarly narrow profile of salvaged Vultures that they made the design leaps needed to bring it to fruition.

Guys, we should start to ask for the IS variants with MASC (Cataphract CTF-3L and Wolverine WVR-7D and WVR-7M).

And considering how MASC was implemented, we might actually see the Flea in the game someday... :/

anybody else wanting the Executioner C for a Hero chassis ? I always liked multi weapon systems on a mech, energy, ballistic, and missiles. except I'm not sure about the hardpoints, and Omni pods on Alt-C.

Well, for the "Resistance III" pack, I think the Flea would be an interesting light mech (specially because it brings MASC), though I would prefer the Javelin or the Mongoose.

Also, on Resistance III pack;

- Bushwacker for medium! (or Assassin, or Vulcan, or Sentinel)
- Lancelot for heavy!
- Hatamoto, Charger, Crockett, anything... for assault.

Problem is, with MASC as put forward, it's a worse Locust.
It'll have roughly 6-8T of usable space, and less available slots (due to MASC and requiring more external heat sinks) and worse heat efficiency than the Locust (less True DHS).
It'll have a max speed of 151.5KPH, and only 166.7kph with MASC active.

That means we have 1 vaguely interesting variant (5E, 2B), then a pair of worse LCT-3M/1E's.

I would like the Flea, I'd buy it, but as it stands, while it could be in the game, it would be effectively crippled now.

I never quite saw the point of the Flea when the Locust is in game. MASC maynhelp the flea a tiny bit in the speed department, but the Flea is so light that I'm afraid it would take up too much available tonnage. The Pirates Bane has ECM and the effects of it's weight is felt in such a light chassis. With ECM the tradeoff seems worth it, but MASC? I'm not so sure MASC is worth the weight it takes up.

Overall, I just don't see why (outside of Flea fanboys) anyone would really care if it is in game or not.

But how PGI implemented MASC must mean something. Only 10% speed boost for light mechs? They must have a MASC light mech planned: maybe the Flea or even the Fire Moth (which is now possible?).

God, as much as I want to pilot a Fire Falcon, seeing the Fire Moth instead as the Clan Wave IV light mech would be terrific.
