It would indeed ;)

I think we've got Urbire-equivalent gun-lights in ClanLand though. Remember how MetaMasters were comparing Urbie to the Kits and Adders, and even calling it better (before the Adder's flamer unlock)?

The Locust IIC would potentially give Clanners the one thing they don't have: Ludicrous Speed. At least, until and unless Firemoth arrives. It would also give an alternative to the Lynx (poor Lynx). All LCT-IIC needs is a 240-plus engine cap, and the battlemech customizability will take care of the rest :D

Still for a 20 tonner for Clans, I'd like to see the Piranha.... 12 MG's for the win!

Down grade the cERML's to cERSL's to get more ammo... Also swap to FF to save a bit more weight for more bullets.

Since the Piranha's a BattleClam, and the Firemoth's an OmniClam, why not both? I think there's room for 2 of the 20-ton ClanTech mini monsters.

That does leave the interesting scenario whereby Clans, with far fewer variants and chassis, have twice the number of 20-tonners as the IS. Humanoid IS 20-tonner confirmed? ;)

The IIC mechs are a completely new code/model. They could make it of any tonnage, only the name is similar.

"Feels like cheating", not actually cheating.

Heck, I "feel like cheating" when i use my Locust 1E, especially after buying the Pirates' Bane.
Oh gosh, those ARM-mounted 6E are insane in comparison to the 4E in the torsos! I mean, i can actually hit UAVs with it and mechs that're below and above me, even Jump Jetting! OH AND THOSE DURABILITY QUIRKS! It can even take more than 1 shot before falling apart!

Pirates' Bane's ECM doesn't make up for it (especially since i stripped it out so i could fit in the MGs along with the 4 MLs - don't judge me, i realize how useless those 2 MGs are, but i always run the MGs if the Stock variant uses them (like the 5S thunderbolt)

No lie, I would sooner take the LCT-1E for MedLas poke over the BJ-1X, it's that good. BJ-1X, for me, is for SPL brawling.

That said, I don't think the LCT-1E needs a nerf. It's still a Locust, even with its durability quirks. One, maybe two good torso hits will put it out of commission, and it can't jitter like it used to.

and only an LRM10 for ranged combat seems a little ......odd for a command unit.

Mine always ended up modified to use a 270 engine, 25 SHS, 16.5 tons of armor, 2xPPC,, 4xLRM5 (ammox3) 4xMLs

Seemed a more sensible "command" build, stay back, direct the fight, add PPCs and LRMs where needed, have PPCs and MLs if anything gets close.
Yeah, FASA's engineering division doesn't make much sense most of the time. :)

yeah..and there wasn't even a Star League Royals with better tech to explain the Cyclops as a succession war compromise.

You know, XL engine, Gauss, ECM/Beagle suite, etc, would have made some sense.

But it doesn't even qualify as sensible in the "really bad idea pushed through by bureaucrats" type of logic that brought us the Charger.

At least the Cyclops is not a slow mech. Posted Image

But it really has room for improvement: remove the AC/20 and the SRM, max armor, upgrade the LRM, add some PPC and maybe jumpjets = I would take it to the field.

360 is just a luxury I feel it can't keep at it's weight, at least with 3025 tech.

I must be the only one who thinks the Cyclops' loadout makes perfect sense for a rear guard command mech. You don't see many officers in charge with sniper rifles do you? They have their sidearm and are prepared to use it if the enemy gets to them, but it is a very close-in weapon.

BUT, why are we even talking about the Cyclops' loadout anyways? With our mechlab, it doesn't matter. Bring it on! I doubt very few if any will retain their stock loadouts.

Ahh Cyclops, you ugly...ugly mech.

Maybe it does need to be implemented into MWO, Alex needs to add his magic to that awkward looking mech.

Lol, I just realized it has a "dome" like the robot in Buck Rogers...

OMG!! That TIE Fighter cockpit! Forget everything I said, I want that mech!

PS: the Cyclops concept art apparently is already finished, though... I hope Alex Iglesias' version look as good as this one.

But if the commander is going to be in the rear guard, why he is inside a 90 tons mech? And the AC/20... not exactly a "sidearm". ;)

I trust his to look better.

Only mech I would challenge Alex on is the Vulcan. Well... and maybe the MWO version of the Marauder. Posted Image

The Cyclops cockpit is like a Tardis, it is much bigger on the inside...

back when they did the poll for the Mauler, Zeus or Cyclops, Black Knight or Grasshopper didn't they say the arts were in for all, but they wanted a "blind poll" or something?
