Because it's a clan mech.

Yeh I know that, I meant why isn't it on the list of clan mechs over there in the first post? Is it just because it's a second-line? I hope not because it's soooooooo awesome. It has claws damnit!

He prolly meant the "Coming soon, possible Clan mechs" list.

It is a second line 'mech, and the claws are just for show. :)

It's neat, I'd like to see it, but it's probable that the first wave of Clan 'mechs is going to be mostly if not all Omnis. Wouldn't mind seeing the Kodiak myself, though.

Maybe, but the Kodiak is just a second line clan BattleMech. Not one of the 3050 front line OmniMechs. I'm not sure, but i mean the clans didn't use second line BattlelMechs during the invasion. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Jack Gallows was faster! :)

So... Banshee for BattleMech 20! :)
  • The Banshee is one of the very few 95-ton 'Mechs ever conceived (there are currently a total of 17 in all of BT).
  • The Banshee is essentially the only 95-ton 'Mech that has a substantial number of era-appropriate variants (including a unique Hero 'Mech!), making it the only 95-ton 'Mech appropriate for MWO, in terms of both the timeline and the XP/skill system.
  • The Banshee has, so far, never been featured in a BT/MW video game (such that its implementation in MWO would make it stand out even more from previous MW/BT video games).
  • The Banshee is extremely fast for its weight, as it comes stock with a 380-rating Engine (which, given MWO's current Engine restriction formula, currently translates into an Engine range of 250 to 400).
  • "The Banshee can be found in almost every army in the Inner Sphere"; in addition to having many variants, it is an extremely common and iconic 'Mech.
There may be other, more-iconic 'Mechs... but the Banshee brings a lot more to the table! :D

Here's my take.

For the next assault and Battlemech 20 it will either be the Zeus or the Banshee. Whichever isn't chosen for Battlemech 20 will most likely be the next assault chosen (Battlemech 24). Now for my take on the next set of 4.

Light: Panther - Iconic Draconis Combine mech. Will pave the way for the Wolfhound later. A runner possibly is the Firestarter.

Medium: Vindicator - A good jack of all trades medium (45 tons). Another runner for the spot is the Kintaro.

Heavy: Black Knight - Laser Boat and Iconic mech. Another runner for the spot is the Quick Draw.

Assault: Zeus or Banshee (whichever isn't announced as Battlemech 20)

Easy, killer! I'm not saying keeping the Marauder out of the game, but at least make it look similar

Victor has the problem of an arm-mounted AC/20. It was OK with CN9-AH because left arm was empty. But Victor has no Lower Arm actuator in right arm to make room for 10-slot AC/20 and has full set of actuators in left arm where lasers are. So they either have to nerf Victor by deleting left arm actuators (so lasers will get reduced field of fire) or what? Three crosshairs - for torso, actuated arm and actuatorless arm?

And Zeus... too similar to Highlander loadout-wise (Higlander also has energy-heavy variant with ballistic hardpoint in the arm replaced by beam hardpoint), main difference in having single "zombie" laser in CT and absense of torso-mounted missiles.

I mean, because of your name (ShadowHawk + Warhammer) I guess you are probably an old school Battletech TT player. As you are using a Battletech related nick, I guess you have more love for BT than general video games.

No problem for me with that at all. :)

I started in the BT universe only in 1995, making me not a very old player - but I played some time with the classic mechs (Unseen) and I miss them.

I would wish the Unseen/Reseen in MWO too, even if redesigned. Man, the Wolverine rocked.

Oh, you made a good point about the Victor... Man, that's probably why it was not chosen for the "Mobile Assault" and they used the Highlander instead (which is slower and kind of overlaps with the Atlas role).

So, the Zeus is a mini-Highlander (without the jump, of course). Hmmm... chances for the Banshee (or Hatamoto-Chi) are increasing.

I'll be honest here: I don't understand what you're trying to say. Is it one of these "unseen" designs that are "no, no!" ?

The Warhammer as you know can't be used in any Mechwarrior video game. The owners of the design are not allowing it.

This is the Warhammer now:

Are you sure you want it in MWO?
