Is that an Atlas III driven by Miley Cyrus?
Have I been drinking again?
Oi.

Canis
All my other "do want" choices are highly unlikely;
Tomahawk - Prototype in 3065, launched as the model II in 3088
Hellstar - 3079
Cygnus - 3075
Heavy would be a good choice, after the disappointing way the Hellfire was handled. The hitboxes, the weapon geometry, that poor thing is a mess.
I've been convinced by some decent arguments to move the Black Python to the top of my list, which are mostly "75 tonner with ECM" and "all the lasers with even more DHS"
My previous top-pick the Burrock could be solid, but needs 5 variants inventing.
Arcas could be interesting, but needs 4 variants inventing, 3 if PGI makes a "not quite ACS-3" by replacing the IJJs with regular JJs.

I'm hoping for a Light or Medium, would prefer IS but I'll live either way.
If it is a clan mech, Black Python would be my best hope.

"Need" is relative, isn't it? I mean, I myself prefer mediums but at this point in the game, few Mechs are truly needed in terms of gameplay. There are only small niches left, like some Clan BattleMechs in certain weight classes.
And honestly, the Vapor Eagle fulfills most of the Clan medium Mech needs. So even as a fan of mediums (someone who hopes for units like the Crimson Langur!) I have to say that a Clan medium would not be the best choice.
Given the limitations of the current 70t OmniMechs I would like to see a Clan BattleMech of that weight, but the canonic options are not exactly thrilling. At 65 tons, the Arcas looks quite nice, also being a much needed 65t Clan BattleMech.

we don't particularly need more assaults, but i would like to get the bane just so we can have a c-bill alternative to the ultraviolet. and for those who like to eat glue, it would also be the first 100 ton clan missile boat (unless you count the spirit bear), with the bane 3 having a whopping 9 missile hardpoints.

I'd say that if we get more assaults we should get a Clan 80-ton Battlemech. That's definitely a gaping hole in the current lineup (Mr. Gargles is fun for laser vomit but not exactly the optimal choice). The Warhammer IIC is a great candidate for this.
Black Python is good choice too though, I'm just afraid it will have to get meganerfed to have Night Gyr agility or even worse because of how many high-mounted lasers it can pack.

i think i'd actually prefer the phoenix hawk IIC. it has JJs, 400 engine cap, and there's some good variation between the IIC/2/3. the 3 could do laser vomit just fine with some slight hardpoint inflation.

I do agree that the Clans are fine for assaults and also that the BP is the best heavy option.
For mediums the Veagle can basically do anything and everything so what is there to add really? Lighter mediums?
Mongrel/Grendel? Basically a clan Blackjack but with a bigger engine.

Pinion? Haha, only if you want to piss off the clans.

Pouncer, 40t Adder with JJ.
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Pouncer
Griffin IIc is basicaly a combo of the Viper and AWolf

Lobo? Jjim did do some epic class art of it.

Lights?
Zaku... I mean Horned Owl. Potentially very strong 35 tonner.
http://www.sarna.net...Owl_(Peregrine)
Fire Falcon has been popular for awhile.

Icestorm, because speed
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Icestorm
Bear Cub, missile lynx?

Commando IIc, needs variants but, why not?

I don't know if we will ever see the Rifleman IIC. As Russ's wording is a little vague. He said PGI can continue to use "Classic BattleTech" designs, so it is unclear if we will ever see a Rifleman IIC at all.
