I'm actually hoping it will play like my Phract, but with missiles. They really need a K2-like version that replaces the missiles pods with high ballistics - that would be AMAZING.

Alpha configuration mounts three medium pulse lasers in place of the missiles in the left torso.

Not ballistics, but a trio of ER PPCs or ER Large Lasers in the left torso could be deadly combined with hill peeking.

That is actually how I load 2/3 of my Battlemasters - forget the gorilla arms, just mount 3-4 lasers in the top mounts and hill hump all day long.
I want a Mad GaussCat, though...

Beta right arm (comes with a Gauss Rifle) plus Prime right torso will allow a Timber Wolf to run twin Gauss. Add in the Alpha Left torso. Of course you then have the problem of only 3.5 tons of pod space to work with. Which means you might have to shave off some armor if PGI allows for armor value adjustments or down rate the engine if they allow that.

Arm-mounted + torso-mounted Gauss won't work. It has to be both torso or both arm, imo.
The whole point, though, is to have two ballistics that are as high or higher than your viewpoint, for proper ridge humping greatness.

They said they will allow that, which is the salvation of the Hellbringer (that will be a very evil mech... tons of weapons + speed + ECM).

Great drawings, but that is too squat for me. Even though I don't use one for a couple reasons, the K2 is probably the best looking mech IMO. I don't want to have to pin a "wide load" banner across my tailpipe, lol.

I think that he wants this instead.
The "B" variant in Living Legends had twin Gauss but unless they release a variant of the Timber Wolf with a smaller engine twin Gauss may be out of reach. Twin UAC20s on the other hand are totally viable. Go figure.

If you try to run 2 UAC/20 on the 'Wolf, you'll get only 3 tons of ammo and a backup ER Small Laser. Also note that twin Gauss has the same limitation because they share the same weight as the UAC/20. In both cases, you may or may not have enough free critical space in two separate limbs to even fit the weapons.

Yeah, the B variant would be it. If it works with a Catapult and Jager, both smaller than the TWolf, why would it be out of reach on the TWolf? I'm missing something.

Opps, it has been a long day and was thinking that CGRs were 15 tons instead of the 12 that they are. So I retract the UAC20s and add in UAC10s instead. Almost as brutal but weights 10 tons and a little more ammo.
Cimarb, on 11 April 2014 - 06:16 PM, said:
Those build only fit because we can change the engine sizes. With the Timber Wolf we are stuck with a 375xl which takes up 26.5 tons.

Clan LB 20-X AC = 20 damage, 9 critical slots, and 12 tons.
Clan Gauss Rifle= 15 damage, 6 critical slots, and 12 tons
A Dire Wolf with Prime arms and Bravo side torsos can mount UAC/80 (and the ammo to make it have some endurance using a 250 rated engine). Or worse sextuple UAC/5s! Not the Ballistic hardpoints sit in turret like blister on to the Dire Wolf. So hill peeker suppreme here.
Warhawk with an Alpha right arm and Bravo left will mount UAC/40.
Timber Wolf will not mount larger than UAC/30 due to a combination hardpoint locations and fixed critical slot conflicts.
With some armor and engine rating changes the Summoner has UAC/60 potential by combining a Prime, Alpha, or Charlie configuration left arm with Delta side torsos.
A single UAC/20 is as big as the Stormcrow will get, but that is stock for the Bravo configuration.
Nova can mount UAC/40 with drastic armor reductions by mixing a Bravo right arm with a Charlie or Delta left arm.
The Adder can mount UAC/40 as a joke build using a Bravo left arm and Delta right arm by stripping all armor and using minimum engine rating.
Alas, the wee Kitfox simply cannot find the mass to mount a UAC/40, though the hardpoints are there. UAC/30 is possible.
Rejoy metabusers! Your heaven awaits you!
