Actually I wonder, with the inclusion of the 5P Enforcer, will PGI soon release guns and mechs from mekpak way long ago? That is sweet if they go back and release stuff like Warlord (Fatlas with JJs, and dual ballistic torso guns), Tenchi (Machine gun boat), XT mechs (Argus + Thanatos + Vulture II), Warthog (is it Mektek made?), and every other mektek mech that I'm forgetting atm.

Just got reminded by the sexy Talos, which would be such a hardcore dpser in this game. Ultimate Jager.

Warlord would kick balance in the face. Warthog would also kick balance in the face, being a 95 ton jumping variant, and the only limiting factor is the hitboxes and how fat it really is (Wider than an Awesome and a Nova side by side). Tenchi is the big version of the Piranha.

The thing is those were never included into the BT universe at large other than the Deimos (which got canonized). PGI is willing to make aprocraphal variants, but they will likely draw the line at aprocraphal chassis or being ahead of timeline.
Examples: the official Talos is an Age of War era 50 ton 'Mech with an AC/10, twin LRM 5s and an SRM 6. It became extinct during the Reunification War. The Jihad era Warlord is really just a Battlemaster that shed 5 tons. It even keeps the BLR designation. The Thanatos and Argus were already in canon by that point and the Vulture Mk. II was eventually canonized, but as version of the Mad Dog that was just cosmetically different due to manufacture, not as the 75 ton mektek version.

Recording of the Russ Town Hall #3 here.

Somebody know if is there already a transcript?

PS: Shadow Hawk and Locust heroes finally confirmed. UrbanMech teased. Timeline jump leaps and more made-up variants possible.

Hell, I wish we'd had known time jumps were going to happen way back when. Would have argues for a start at 3025 instead and a constant leap frog from there...

4th succession war
war of 3039
formation of FRR
ronin wars....

So much missed opportunities for story and plenty of time for IS weapon development and balance before the clans hit. No going back now (unless PGI or the community hold events).

It was a very small comment, essentially saying it would be possible and eventually happen, but no need to do it anytime soon. Note takers may not even have found it consequential - I know I did not put it in my notes, at least.

If they add some host options for Private Matches (for instance, limiting technology and stock mechs only), the Community itself could do such events.

What is this heresy?
One does not simply "substitute" the Atlas.

I know those mechs are apocryphal, but since Enforcer's 5P came out, maybe other options are available (aka Mauler is good to go, other mechs later in Jihad/Dark Age era are good to go, etc), which I mentioned a few. Like after every mech pack Odanan made.

I knew of Talos, but comparatively lighter autocannons have been powerful (except AC2) and the Talos can most likely hold it's own out there, as it has the capability of 4xAC5s and by that time, maybe 4xMinigauss or 4xRotary ACs.

Different Warlord I'm referring to. It's supposedly an Atlas with JJs and dual ballistic racks, which is in Mekpak. Oh and Warthog I was wrong, it was a true canon variant that was just lowly popularized, and it doesn't have JJs unlike what I said. It would still be neat though, however Turkina is more likely.

Minigauss was never a thing. Magshots are much lighter. The shared names provide needless confusion.

I am aware of the mekpak Warlord. Honestly, its laughable and besides AS7-K3 has jump jets so no need. Warthog is not canonized unless you mean the "Warthog" variant of the Bandit Hovercraft. It is not in MUL or in the latest publications it does not exist.

Light Gauss is gonna be quite deadly in 4's but yeah derp, forgot how many weapons were made up during Mekpak, same as Warthog, same as Warlord, etc. I just need to remember which ones. (And Minigauss indeed never existed, it's really just Light, normal, heavy gauss, then Magshots and HAGs which the latter I rather not come to MWO for. HAGs are basically full auto gauss, which would break the game.)

A ton of the ones that were made up I miss though, that's why I brought it up. Warthog at first glance seemed that it was already there, but then I looked back on top. Made by Clan Star Adder confused me. You are correct though, AS7-K3 does have JJs.

I think best bet is to get to CW and all those mechpaks that Odanan had said and call it a day then, from there we can figure where to go and maybe PGI can create it's own universe 3100+ Dark age/Jihad era. If we ever get there that is.

Updated and cleaned up the original post.

About the Shadow Hawk and Locust heroes, the leak was legit, after all. Pirate's Bane might be my first Locust...

PS: the quirks really changed the game. I would never thought I would be afraid of the Awesome, Thunderbolt, Hunchback and Locust...

I run my AWS-8Q with 3 PPCs and 3 ML and I can fire the PPCs 12-15 times before over heating.

Men, just more Inner Sphere metal for the scrap heap...

I would love for them to add LAM's though... Even if they would be the re-seen...

As much as I would love the 3025 TRO art work ones, due to my love of macross, I'm realistic about it.

As for LAM's they are so flexible on the battle field, one round move like a mech, next round do a straifing run as an aerospace fighter, then land and cool off...

In lore entire companies of battle mechs were sacrificed for a chance at getting spare parts for LAM's...
