Windows 8.1
AMD FX 8320
AMD R9 270
8GB RAM

when in the mechlab mechs will flash over and over again seeming to blink rapidly. A workaround to this issue is to use DirectX11 instead of DirectX 9, howver my FPS takes a massive hit while using DorectX 11.

I do have dual R9 270's, however I have crossfire explicitly disabled for MWO because of all the trouble it causes.

So I found what was causing the bug. Being in Fullscreen mode causes the bug. When I change to windowed or full windowed mode, the flashing/flickering disappears. Hope this can get fixed at some point.

Probably something unique to your setup.
Win 8.1... GTX780... DX9... No issues.

I have this issue in mechlab and am running DX11, 64bit, SLI, Windowed Full Screen, TXAA and max everything else. It is slightly annoying but the issue is not present in game so I can tolerate it. I have been assuming it is related to SLI but maybe not.

There is some updated driver code for the R9 270 - just did that two days ago - it might help...

believe me ...you don't want any "flash over" in your mechlab.... ;)

Greetings all,
reference the 'flashing'

Check what your normal desktop setting are. Do you have any non-default items running?
- Items like 'aero peak' for the taskbar, or different resolutions for the desktop and game?
- Considering that the number of players using both modes don't have this issue, it's something on your end only and could probably be disabled for playing the game.
- Even driver conflicts between the current 'flash player version' and video drivers could be a cause.
- If you have the option for GPU scaling, turn it off as it effects some games with flickering.
- Sometimes the ATI crossfire will cause flickering in MWO, disable it and see if that was the cause.
(With one card it will not matter, just check to see if the option was enabled or off.)

Good luck, and check for updated drivers for background programs that MWO uses in displaying the MechLab.
