He'll, just swapping the locked ferro for Endo would be a huge bonus. :\

yeah, can't promote a swap that will break the canon stock build, PGI won't go for that, and I don't blame them for not opening that can of worms. I just feel they need to unlock endo on Clan MEchs, to be able to balance the in faction disparity. It's the huge gap in power between Clan MEchs making balance so dang near impossible.

That's exactly right. Unlocking Endo and FF on Clan mechs would be more balancing than unbalancing. The Mad Cat will always be the best of Clan heavies at 75 tons, but you would see far fewer of them if Endo and FF were unlocked. The Thor would not eclipse the Mad Cat if you allowed it Endo.

Looking at the Marauder's scale I am thinking this should also be the Thor's scale. It carries fewer weapons even.

Bringing backsided laser hardpoints into front position is not breakeing canon? ...tell me more about this new Battletech you are talking about. ;)

A list of no fewer than 6 variants exist not in game, but in the game files. 2 are over a year old (one nearing 2?), 4 are Resistance 2 special variants.

The Summoner is just one of those mechs where taking it into a 1st person shooter from tabletop magnifies the problems. Low ammo and the heat neutral skirmisher isn't really a thing IMO, especially with jump jets not being as awesome as they are in tabletop.

I would be thrilled if they just cheated the time line and put the summoner 2 in instead.

paul refuses to let any mech be heat neutral. He has openly admitted to this and actively nerfs any builds that are even close to heat neutral.

I think I posted this on page ten or something, but can't remember as this thread was started so long ago...

Summoners were my favorite clan mech, with the shadowcat coming in second. To this day I haven't purchased them. I don't understand the reasoning behind the willfull creation of second rate mechs by the Devs. I understand them trying to avoid power creep, but this wouldn't have been power creep, it would have been a slight adjustment to pull the summoner up to ebj or timbie status. Lets call it a quirk....

Good point, a good 3/4 of the clanners are subpar, so blanket balance might knock the god mechs down to reason, but a lot of them suffer unnecessarily.

I think another omni-specific quirk pass for the underpreformers is probably in order. I yearn for the day when I see badders scampering around the feet of summoners regularly.

Summoner is probably the one of only two clan mechs that needs some serious help the Mist Lnxy being the other one.

Adding to those two

Nova needs a full re scale to be smaller, or at least narrower

Warhawk needs a DHS on the LT unlocked, so that Ammo can be put on both sides

what the summoner really needs is either free choice of endo steel structure and/or about 5 -8 tons more payload

The way the game is currently. The Summoner could do with a config loaded with energy hardpoints. Like the one Malthus has in the cartoon.

Just buff Class I, II and III jumpjets. It'll help Executioners, Victors, Highlanders too. That or give those mechs jump jets quirks.
