My quote is more for fun than super serious, but people seem to have a low opinion on mechs that are obviously not the best but are decent. The Gargoyle is one of them. Yeah im sure if you nit picked the long list of mechs there are a few duds, but if people spent half the time playing the actual game and becoming a better pilot, then over emphasizing " meta mechs/builds or go home ", we would have alot more people who actually had a clue about this game.

Restricted agility, wrong movement archetype, poor design constraints, and simple geometry.

People get a clue about this game by ranking the robots, and realizing, some simply shouldn't be used unless you want a challenge. That's what bad robots are for.

It CAN run the standard Timberwolf 2 x CLPL 4-5 x CERML build but with less heat sinks and less DPS.

Agreed. I dont think thats the right build for it. The 8 erml build is good, but you could also go with 6 ermeds and 1 large pulse in the chest, TC1 and rest DHS, works great on the Prime

I agree with your " wrong movement archetype ", which Russ is supposedly going to fix. You lost me on the rest.

We all have our favorites for sure, and we all rank robots in a way I suppose. Some mech's work well for some people, some dont.

It was on Twitter...shortly after release, so I don't want to search for it.

I'll guess the first patch in the new year.

If not, oh well.

What's sad is that it's probably much easier to code than the Centy's gun as well. Maybe later today or tomorrow I'l try to dig around in the XML files and see if it can literally be changed with a single line of text.

I thought he later said when they looked into it though it was right and no changes were coming.

It most certainly isn't the right build for it. I was pretty much saying that because you CAN put it on there doesn't mean you should. You could lose some armor and put 4 PPCs on......should you?

He better not have.

An 80 ton mech who's niche is agility should not be counted as "huge" for climbing slopes, period.

I can only contain the wub somehow! (Found an excuse to put all wub on a mech, and that was the best candidate at the time).

Way too limited in options for an OMNI and Assault.

I will agree the options are limited, but far from useless. Is it a DWF? Nope. It's a GAR. :D

As soon as I looked at the Gargoyle and saw its loadouts I knew it was going to have trouble. The mech is like an Atlas during its high school years and its basically getting picked on by everyone.

Yes it is limited, but it does have lightweight clan lasers at its disposal, and has a freakin XL400 on it. If you want 80 tons that goes 89 kph, its a decent ride. If you dont, look elsewhere. Different strokes for different folks!

That is one issue I've found with it; my 95 ton mech with a XL400 is more responsive, with a larger torso twist range, and better shield arms.

Perhaps it's the efficiencies, but for a mech 15 tons lighter, it feels like a 120 tonner. It's just a chore to pilot.

Well, the wub does make the mech a little bit better.

Too bad, I'd rather drive a Stormcrow instead, but I can't fit all those DHS! :P

You already have the best mechs in the game, timberwolf, stormcrow and direwhales. You want more uber teir 1 super mechs or you get mad? Every clan mech should be teir 1 with amazing hitboxes and ridiculous firepower apperantly.

Get outta here IS whiner. All you guys see is 2 tiers for clans. Gods and "doesn't exist". Because the second anyone wants to buff any clan mech that isn't the timberwolf, Stormcrow, or direwolf you imediately assume that any buff makes them teir 1.

How about we remove all the IS quirks except on the Orion, Shadowhawk, and King crab. Then when you can only pilot 3 mechs and be good you will understand there are TIERS!
