The Other Invading Clans...

This was my only actual gripe about resetting the timeline back to 3050 again; I really hope PGI does not want to wait 7 years to take my money, as I have no reason to purchase a pack with Ghost Bear, Wolf, Jade Falcon, or Smoke Jaguar faction content.

There is no other Clans in the game right now other then the big 4. Align with one of them or go IS....

I was asking if anyone had heard any release dates hinted at by PGI, or if they have mentioned anything at all about the other invading Clans that arrive later. I am well aware of the current 4-Clan choice, which was the very reason for my post...hoping for more variety soon.

I hopeful, for my CHH brothers if nothing else, that this is not the case, but I am not holding my breath.

Why wait though? Just start a unit now under Steel Viper, Diamond Shark, or nova cat or join one that already exist.

This to some extent then also helping to solve some of the issues with how Mercs operate and how they perhaps apply themselves to contracts. At least for those groups who will be responding to the idea of working on the contracts advertised by the MRBC and playing to those objectives as opposed to the idea of sticking flags in planets (just helping the process for C-bills and whatnot.)
Interestingly the Clans are now RPing from a perspective of having relations with these Merc groups so it will be interesting to see the idea of how PGI treat these relationships.
Also newer "Game play" styles that afford more ways in which to play CW and add more game play content could further be applied to other groups like bandits and pirates. Who as free peoples could have more flexibility with raiding and sabotage as options to effect the CW stage and be more free roaming to give "Employers/Buisness Contacts" further options for the CW arena.
This with other combined interest like economy, tech bonuses, salvage, black market and so on.
All these things much more important design elements to consider as additional features that will help to enrich the experience of MWO and CW.
I do however kind of expect that the 2nd wave Clans would be naturally introduced as new factions with their planets. Perhaps this might induce a need for a reset? It might not go down to well with other units or factional interests if it is part way through a campaign?
Certainly from a lore point some of these units that represent the 2nd wave and in game now as "observers" are in the wrong corridors anyhow, so maybe the ideals of a factional contract will afford them the more appropriate recognition of where they should be on the CW playing field? At least if lore and traditions about operation revival are as important to some people as the OP suggests?

Then again, we saw a variant of the Kit Fox in the art that we still do not have...this helps keep hope alive, though.

Holy ****, when did I turn into a worthless troll. Sorry about that. Here's all the info I could find about the original question:

Towards the end, Paul states the plan for reveal dates and such next year.

There are a few mentions again of the plan of future addition of clans as well as other canon units such as Wolf's Dragoons.

Some more implying of their plan to introduce new clan and merc factions and units in the future.
Had to comb through all the question/answer stuff, but there are some bits here and there. This is some of the most official looking stuff I could find through the mwomercs forums. No idea if any more recent info has come out through twitterverse or anything. Hope this is what you were looking for. If I happen across anything else, I'll try to link it here.

No need for a reset.. And if they will be following any kind of rough timeline, resetting would screw it up.
I think the 2nd wave Clans can just have their own faction while sharing their mated Clans' planets with them. I.E. Nova Cats and Smoke Jaguars. Indeed, Both CJF and CSJ have the fewest numbers in the Clans, and the 2nd Wave Clans have quite too few numbers of their own, so a relatively big addition as the Nova Cats (1 or 2 organized units) could help the Jags.

So CSJ units first do all the work, gain planets that may have future infrastructure and benefits and then simply seed planets to CNC as part of that process even though then the units allied to CNC may not have done any of the work in helping to gain those planets in the first place?

I am not sure if it is possible in this system, but i think they should share them. This means the Jags do not have to "gift" the Cats anyone, while they will get more players and units on their side. Sounds a good trade to me.

Well if they simply share them then CNC would not be their own recognised distinct faction would they? And then things would be as they are now, just with a cosmetic pin?
And what do you then call the planets under the joint CSJ/CNC corridor? Clan Feline faction?
What happens later down the line when the warring breaks out between CNC and CSJ before them siding with Kurita as part of the future efforts of the reformed SLDF groups?
Hence I feel there is a needed reason to identify ownership of planetary control with the 2nd wave factions.
(Remember: Factions being different from the player units, where even pugs and various groups may then form the faction).
I guess without a way of player units being able to "gift" planets due to no factional co-ordination and potential abuse as opposed to loyalist ties, some of the more major diplomatic changes from lore concerning factional ownership may not come about. I guess the most prominent of gifts perhaps being Outreach to the Wolf Dragoons.
Maybe some form of voting system by unitary participation might allow for these things to be considered as part of MWO diplomacy with all the player groups? Maybe having a unit with X registered players then denoting a vote to allow various factional things to occur as part of the game mechanics?
