Pretty straight forward predicament here. I'm about to invest in turning a module to 12.5% ad buyin it for 3million cbills. So I just wanted to run it past you guys. Which do you prefer? Which is over all better in your opinion?

Personally I've been running the UAC5's but a jam in a brawl could result in death. I feel like after the cd boost AC5 standards will take the cake. Halp meh!

Try it without the module, and ask yourself if you think a slight increase in ROF will make the difference you're looking for.
For me, being able to fire another quick shot with the UACs at a badly damaged target and finish him off before he gets a chance to find cover is hard to beat. Or just the ability to drill one weak point hard while you've got a clear shot, maybe damaging internals or blowing off a limb.

My UAC5 KGC is a blast - the downside is that I can never carry enough ammo for the darn thing.

Still, everyone has their own fighting style, and perhaps the steady BANG BANG BANG of standard ACs chewing on enemy armor will do it for you. Not to mention the extra ammo and other goodies you'll be able to load on with the weight savings.

Try it and see what you think. By the time you've earned enough CBills in your KGC to afford the module, you should have a pretty good idea if it's going to be worth the money.

4 U/AC5s do the job for me, jamming isn't as common as I expected and when something does jam it's not a game breaker since I've got 3 others firing away still.
Maybe 1 time it was an issue that cost me to die, generally I'll take the firepower in this high alpha meta.

Tried both inmy loyalty crab, and like the uac5 JUST A BIT better. Ammo is definitely an issue though, so if you start running out the extra tons for the regular ac5 may give you the staying power needed.

the UAC/5 version is IMO way better the AC5 crab gets out DPS'ed by a dragon N1 (with modules and masterd and so on) a mech 30kph faster and 40 t lighter..

240 rounds of U/AC5 ammo goes a long way, only issue is someone taking out half my ammo which just means I make my shots count instead of machine gunning things.

Never ran out of ammo without so much of my mech being destroyed that all the ammo went aswell, with no arms the lack of AC ammo is a non-issue anyway.

Can't decide between ac5's and uac5's? Want the reliability AND the firepower? Try both! Take 2 ac5's, 2 uac5's 6 tons ammo for uac's and 5 tons ammo with ac's (may actually be 7 & 6) a few medium lasers, and you can even fit a standard engine! I just changed to it a few days ago... works beautiful. You can never fully jam, so in a prolonged battle with a uac5 crab, you can pull a win if he/she gets unlucky.
