I've seen some horrible matches in CW with players bringing trials. Instead, save up for a drop deck and master those mechs before you drop into CW. Otherwise you're going to most likely get stomped.

Some of the Clanner mechs are actually not bad stock. I bring my WHK B, SCR P and a SCRP Trial and an adder trial. Ive rarely had to get to the Trials, but they are fine. Some of hte IS Trials are fine to, its the pilots in them who are likely new to the game and dont know how to play yet, its not the mechs. The Orion Trial, its quite nice, Highlander Trial, its not bad. Dragon Trial, its got a GR and 2 LL, its not tht bad either. Ive played each of those and while my results are bad in them, the mechs themselves are not that horrid.

I've gotten a bug where it ignored my dropdeck and threw me in with trials.

Two things to note

-1- there is a known bug that resets your drop deck. You get stuck with trial regardless

-2- the trial hbk is a damn fine leg taking machine on defense. I have taken it intentionally and enjoyed it

What about for a new player on cadet bonus?

Clan trials are forgivable.
IS...whew, its gonna be rough.

new players sometimes have no choice and well... they have the right to play too you know? Also, there is a BUG that at times, resets a players deck to all trial mechs. So before we go telling people what they can and can not bring in CW, lets know whats going on first ;)

Trials are usable as filler mechs for those who don't have every role possible in every game. They also are usable if tonnage limits fail and things happen, due to 160-240 limit.

And people never expect trials to do well, which catches em off guard and makes the silly regulars and casuals think to go easy on em. Then the trial wrecks em with no issues (though I will admit that it sucks to be in some of the trials).

TL;DR: Don't use trials exclusively, but use em as a filler for roles and tonnage.

And if OP you have an issue with trials then click below. I reviewed every trial thus far in the game.

If it’s a clan Mech then no problem go right ahead just set up your weapons firing on the training ground

A ridiculous demand. I advise everyone to ignore it. If you wish to impose that rule on your own unit, fine. Do not attempt to tell other players what they can and cannot play to suit your own opinion of what you think is appropriate. What's next? Can't bring in less played mechs? Do we have to conform to specific builds after that? What a load of dung.

You may also be seeing owned champion mechs not just trials.

Actually, some of the IS trial mechs are good too. The Trial Hunchback is a beast and the Trial Jenner and Centurions are not bad either. I was surprised how long I lasted in these mechs and the damage and kills I was able to get with them, when the bug hit me and switched all my mech to Trials.

Problem isn't with trial mechs. (could be worse, once trial mechs was just stock battlemechs). It is either dropdeck bug, as was mentioned, and player piloting unfamiliar mechs; or it is new player, and new player can play like new player with any mech... Or sometimes player knows what he is doing, or at least thinks so.

Seriously, if you don't have enough 'Mechs to field for CW, then stay away from it.

I see custom builds that make any trial mech burst out in tears in CW regularly. A thread complaining about those would be more appropriate.
