giving all novas another 10% energy heat reduction

nova B +10%ballistics velocity and 20%cool down reduction
nova-P 10%heat reduction on erppcs

Why would the Prime get ERPPC buffs?

Obviously buffs should be applied to individual omnipods. Why else take the 3E arms over the prime arms; or even look at that 1E arm?

Besides, it's the A variant that should be getting the ERPPC buffs:

the NVA-A LT(1AMS 1E)
the NVA-C LT(1M)
a NVA- RT(+1M) would be awesome,

quirks are suspected to come soon.

however I think the nova would quirks like...

Prime:
-20% energy heat
-20% er medium laser heat.
10% reduced beam duration.

Bravo:
-10% chance to jam UAC 5 (Should be a quirk!)_
+10% energy range
+10% er ppc range
-10% energy heat

Sierra:
-20% energy heat
-20% medium pulse laser heat
-5%ballistic cooldown

I think it should be along those lines but my problem is how would quirks work? all to the CT? all parts of the mech share this quirk (kinda like the stock omnipod bonus) etc?

I am trying to think off ways not for a nova S to steal the nova primes medium laser quirks and vice versa....

like how the exp quirk is set. you must have 8/8 omnipods for the quirk to work

You guys are smoking crack. The Nova isn't so bad it needs those massive buffs. Its still better than 80% of IS mechs.

Nice thing two of them are already in the game files. No RT missile, but the shoulder slot is clearly there.

Not really. Compared to a Hunch, it's slightly worse actually.

20% would be a good number, I think. Along with some more diversified Omnipods. It's Tier 3ish. Possibly 4, but it does have a deadly short range niche, at the expense of high heat.

Nova A would be the only clan mech I may considering getting a 4th when it comes out.

The kitfox A however... if it gets the quirk for a gauss I may take it considering my current kitfox prime is a A....

Nope. I am taking Necrosia

And the Nova is 'that bad' to IS mechs.

Hunchback 4P out does the Nova Prime and S in terms of energy boating.
And any inner sphere medium with the slots and even more so out do it in any kind of ballistic builds besides having 4 machine guns which is only out done by the Arrow blackjack.

To be honest all clan mechs need there quirks. some for different reasons and less so for the timberwolf. (however I think quirks to reinforce the LRM part of the timby needs to be done)

Every single Nova today I have LITERALLY walked up to in my Hunchback 4P (6 SPL, 3ML) and killed it in 4-5 alphas. While it does minimal damage to me.

I don't know, maybe they were all bad pilots.

But now with quirks don't the HB get armor buffs? I mean sure those pilots must have been bad but having armor buff still kinda gives an edge over something where most weapons are on hands with crappy armor :X

just my opinion here but I cant see the clans getting any values higher then 15% I doubt they will get a combination of energy and weapon specific quirks too hopefully I'm wrong, i just think it would be a bit much since clan weapons already have better base range over i.s standards and not to forget that targeting computer increases energy weapon range.

Nova is way too wide and has Magilla Gorilla arms that drag on the floor when you walk.

Its CT sticks out way too far making torso twisting kinda pointless.

It loses arms like i lose my GF's to-do list...

It can energy boat ok, but half the time you just end up shooting the ground/terrain if you are not on flat ground.

The buff at the very least I would like to see is a speed buff. They gave it to the summoner and technically the Nova should have a top speed of 86 KPH. So at the very least I would like better maneuverability.

I wouldn't be opposed to this, every time I see a Nova in a game I just laugh, and get a free kill. I don't think quirks are going to fix it though, it's just a bad design overall.

I would like to see each separate Omni section have its own unique bonuses, rather than a generalized bonus applied to the entire thing.

Nova-B's Left Arm omnipod should get that....

Actually, I have an answer to that. I was hoping to tell you about it, but you logged off.

I was planning to acquire the Summoner pack for myself on Christmas (was going to spend it on something else, but it was sold out. :( )

Pay close attention to the Nova-Prime's arms when you add lasers to it... compare it to the Nova-S. You'll understand it once you add it. The 3rd laser on the Nova-Prime's arms is placed on the bottom for some inane reason... either by artistic license (I would like to whip have a talk with these people about how this influences balance... so many mechs are done in by the negative parts of the legomech-dynamic visual loadout system) or by actual "balance" (if Paul has input on this... please stop).

Quote

Besides, it's the A variant that should be getting the ERPPC buffs:

You know, I had forgotten about that variant in MW2. The Nova-A's Left Torso would be a nice addition... but visually I think there's something odd about where the firing location is from the Nova-B's Right Torso energy hardpoint... it seems to be "lower" than the arms....

Considering that the 255XL consumes no "additional tonnage" (the Summoner's boost is a headscratcher, though that has more to do with the Timberwolf's dominance), that would be something I'd like to see too.

This additional 5% speed boost on the Mist Lynx would also help as well...

Edit:
I will put up a post later though...

2nd Edit:
There is a complete Nova-A omnipod set in the data (Left Torso energy is the dead giveaway)... it's kinda up to PGI to actually add the dang thing in.

20% Heat Reduction and 20% ERMLaser heat reduction in a PRIME is laughably game breaking. 40% heat reduction on the best Clan energy weapon in a mech that can boat 12 seems good huh? Yea, I bet it does.

Lets try 7.5% reduction in heat and an additional 10% heat reduction in ERMLaser.

The only reason I'd give the Nova a 10% heat reduction on MLasers instead of 7.5 is because it is huge. That's it.
