#1 Check your epeen at the dropship.
CW is not about the individual. Anyone with solo match scoring results at the end of CW (high kill count low assist count) is a detriment to their team (only exception being if they are killing more than 1/2 of the enemy team (so 25 kills or more).
(As with anything there are exceptions)

#2 Stick with the mob.
Solo players are going to get eaten alive in CW by either the enemy team or the turrets. So there is no sympathy for the solo.

#3 Don't QQ at your first death. You have 4 mechs.

#4 Consider the group you are dropping with if you are dropping with an organized team or unit.
If they are consistently losing and yet attempting the same strategy each time. GET OUT
(That is Einstein's definition of insanity.)
If after losing a match and recapping what went down you do not hear/read any one criticizing their own play, and I don't mean just saying 'I did poorly' but actually breaking down where they messed up at, then it's definitely time to look for a different unit. The inability to assess ones own mistakes becomes an inability to accept one's units mistakes and then no progress towards getting better can even take place if the problems aren't even looked at as problems.
If you offer observations/constructive criticisms and it's met with excuses. GET OUT.
(See the previous paragraph)
If your unit has few to no other friendly units. GET OUT.
(This is feudal warfare and total failure in diplomacy will be total failure in this war.)

#5 Teamspeak. USE IT.
In game voice comms or not does not matter. Teamspeak, and other comms programs, exist. There is no excuse for not using it. Don't blame PGI for not adding something to the game that they don't need to in actuality.

#6 PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
See rule #1 and fight superior units repeatedly. Die A LOT. Lose as many times as it takes until you stop losing. Sure if you get overly frustrated, pissed off, then take a break from it, but you are never going to beat a superior foe that you refuse to fight.

................and if you're a solo pug that got added to the elite group of whatevertheyare........

1 - Follow the herd. There's safety in numbers and you're just here to help them out. Do what you're told (if you understand the language they're speaking) and try not to shoot your teammates in the back. That might be hard if you're one of those guys that can't unzoom without looking at your hand and the cheat sheet with what you bound keys to. Perhaps you shouldn't zoom to begin with...it's far better that you miss completely than nail a friendly in the back. Especially if you're playing Clan. We tend to take that as an invitation to a Circle of Equals.

2 - Don't join CW if you're using trial mechs. I can't be more blunt than that. You truly need to think about what role it is you want to fill and what to bring to the party. Remember that you're a solo player. You need to be a well-rounded build that can fill multiple roles on the fly as opposed to a one-trick pony. ALWAYS bring some form of ECM counter-measure. BAP/CAP is a must. It sucks to be the guy up front when the enemy pushes into your face under ECM cover and your team doesn't even notice it happening because...no red doritos. Be able to cover multiple ranges....LRMs aren't bad for Medium-Long range but don't boat them. It's better to provide quick, reactive support fire to keep the enemy's head down until your Group can get there than it is to try to blast them one at a time, all by yourself. Make sure your heat is good. Last thing you want is to overheat and try to tell everyone on voice comms you need cover only to realize you don't have voice comms.

'Course you have. You're a clanner.

PGI designed the clans to be superior, which is what they were supposed to be in lore. No complaints about the state of things, just surprise that anyone expected anything different. ;)

Except there is a HUGE failure in such an assesment. I am Comstar Irregulars. We JUST switched to clan. I've played both Clan and IS side and have enjoyed it very much. I just recently joined CI as well so I have experience playing with different units as well and that previous unit was IS.

I actually personally feel that it's weighted towards IS right now and not simply with the light zerg. Weighted not OP one way or the other.

There is only one problem with that theory....the machines are better, the meat is not.

In Lore, Clan warriors were genetically bred to be superior..or they are freeborn that fought their way to the bottom of the food chain. Here, they're herpaderps in trial omnis wanting to see what CW is all about. Kind of like in the solo queue, just worse.

It is what it is. Don't assume that Clans are consistently overpowered. I've been on plenty of Clan teams that are afraid to go through the gates.

I disagree with points 4 & 6 with the intent I attributed to the OP I guess.

4) I have been offered a few units to join, was even part of one for a bit, but I often play really casually. I don't want some 18 year old who plays the game to keep constantly telling me what he believes im doing wrong, i already know the game well enough to self evaluate if I feel the need, but its is a game for me first and foremost and I play to have fun, not for you to have fun, so if you want mech B killed but I would rather kill mech C, even if its not tactically the right move... guess what im doing.
I don't particularly care about post match evaluations in fact if my unit did that i would likely leave, this is a game I don't need to put that much thought into, I don't want to have homework to do for it. Its play and leave, not a university course, winning a CW game is nice but not that important in the scheme of things for me.
I know a great 4 man CW group, and that's all they have, just 4 buddies playing together, talking crap and having fun. Yet for the OP this unit apparently needs to disband as they have no other in game (unit) friends - I would rather play with them than a large group I can tell you. Their faction cohorts are who they play with - PUGS I guess in essence they may stil be but better than strangled by lists of a "wanna be" unit do's and dont's.

6) I don't practice, never will, never want to, no private training matches for me. I play (and have learnt from playing) the game, but lengthy talks on tactics, what is the best current build, meta mech etc - I don't care. I grab a mech I like, loudout I like (heaven forbid sometimes i take a mech on looks alone, add weapons I like and play). This game isn't my lifes major accomplishment nor means that much to me other than a game I can have fun with and blow up some other robots. I wont spend more time on it than simply playing it. Its a quick release in a make believe place.

While there is certainly nothing wrong with that I have to ask:: Why did you bother with this thread then?
