anyway i'll have founders next month if things pan out for me.

All kidding aside, I do believe that those who are active in the community should receive a title of some sort. Wait! they do get one for their participation via posts, member, advanced member, etc.

On the in-game side of things, titles should be earned via battle prowess and skills learned. Perhaps Scout, Tanker, Sniper etc for following those lines of interest.

Just my 2 C-bills.

the point of the founder title is recognition. if you recognize the regular members, it'd defeat the entire purpose of the founder title.

this sounds like more brain numbing "everybody's a winner" mentality.

Just call them Mechs, not mechwarrior, cannon-fodder, laser-bait, missile-sponges, etc. Free to play games need cash to operate and pay the bills and provide additional content. Those that paid enjoy and do deserve additional perks to make this available for those that play occasionally or can not afford to pay, especially since the world economy of 2012 stinks.

If I were you, I'd look into getting a more diplomatic personaliity.

I didn't buy a founder pack because I never pre-buy anything. I recognize and accept that pre-buying crap has become commonplace in software but to me it makes absolutely no sense at all. I'm not going to pay for something which I have only marketing buzz and optimistic wishes to gauge the value of. You want my money, come to me with a product in hand ready to demonstrate. The more you talk up the advantages of buying without seeing, the more entrenched in not-buying I will become and the more suspicious that there's no real product behind all the salesmanship.

I don't see that non-Founder players need any special title for being non-Founders. Once the game has been running for a while, there's a decent chance of titles like "Veteran" being available for anybody with more than X number of days registered. Failing that there's almost certainly a player stats page where you can just check people's registration date to see who's been around the block.

Well if they don't play in the beta and if they don't buy a founders, they have contributed nothing to the game itself, only to the forums. You can call them "people who like to post a lot"?

Seriously though, why would you want to create any division of a player base on the time spent posting?

To be completly honest, They shouldnt have called it a "Founder" It should have been called a "Backer" Because the backed up the game with their money, And everyone currently on this forum should be called founders because they are asctually helping the game with the idea's and concepts for the game devs.
