30min is a short time only if the attackers try for some unknown reason to kill all the defending mechs as well as the orbital gun.

But your objective is not to kill all defending mechs, but to take out the orbital gun. If you are spending time to kill all the defending mechs instead of the ones that are in your way, you are doing it wrong.

Well here is the rub....

We have repeatedly finished attacks suceessfully in 7min or less....right around two min is a super fast match for us (but not the fastest out there I wager). So unfortunately it is the nature of the mode to encourage rush tactics that feel in no way like the mech combat we all seek in this game.

You can fight it out and risk being short on time or simply go for the throat with a less fun but more likely successful rush technique that is a known way of circumventing the advantages for defenders.

Done Boreal in 5.5 minutes with the new gens in place (on the first day I think).

It gets easier every time the opfor has no idea how to properly defend.

I voted 30 minutes is enough not because it is but because you dont want to sit through a failed 50 minutes attack. The game in CW needs more speed and has to play faster, get the weapon damages up the armor down, get rid of the gates and use alpine peaks as invasion map instead.

There are lots of ways to make CW play faster and by faster I don't mean faster using zerg rushes, I mean faster as in, faster to eliminate the enemy team.

30mins is not enough for the attacker. Plain and simple. They only tactic is death ball to the gen, we also arent playing in 12 mans. which also makes it longer.

Did you ever really try to "abuse" someone as meatshield in attack mode as long as it denies stepping through the gate? You ´ll need a lot of luck to make this work.
Even the meatshield use of a PUG-Turret only works in defence. That´s the reason why solo players and newbies shouldn´t play attack mode at all. NO USE AT ALL! Absolutly hopeless!

What the Invasion mode needs, is a possibilty to end a defense mission asap ,if possible.
So often there´s a huge mismatch between the attackers and the defenders. Overwhelming attackers means winning in 5 minutes by destroying objectives. Only solution for overwhelming defenders is spawncamping for 15 minutes. Many attackers then won´t even touch the ground before getting wrecked, but the "Show" still must go on. And finally, the worst BS that can happen, is a superboring tie at closed gates. Watching a wall for 30 minutes. So exciting! Gimme more!

Or possibly a rework of how the CW queue works overall. It's not difficult for them to add a separator in there somewhere....solos and groups of, oh, 3-5 end up in one queue and larger groups end up in another. Do the math, I'm sure there's a better number than 3-5, but you get the point, right?

There's also more than the whole attack/defend in the works, too.

When I first started playing in CW as a solo, I tended to end up on teams that communicated well...whether it was a big group with a couple of us fillers or multiple smaller groups with solos. Teamwork wasn't what you'd see with TS but it was recognizable as teamwork.

This last weekend, due to yet another poorly thought out and even more poorly implemented event from PGI, we got the bottom of the Solo Queue septic tank in CW. Are they here to stay or will they leave once the bonuses drag them back to the Solo Queue? Who knows?

I've never yet seen the timer run down not even with four generators to zerg.

An extention of time isn't needed because

1 organised teams don't need it because we'll they're organised

2 teams that are not don't need an extra 15 minutes to run around like headless chickens or to attack piecemeal and get slaughtered

there is currently only one tactic, its not rocket science

Attack isn't very hard if you're in a decent group. We usually go for 48 kills before destroying Omega, and from the matches I've been in, the record time for that so far has been 13:31 for Clan mechs and 14:40 for IS mechs. And no, that isn't even in a full 12-man, we typically have something like 4-8 people online at a time.

Defence is slightly harder than Attack since you can't just focus on killing everyone, you have to make sure nobody rushes the base generators. ;)

Also, today for the first time I saw attackers just hiding their mechs when they were the last mech standing in their team, with apparently no other purpose whatsoever than to waste as much of time as possible.

30 minutes is plenty.

Wait you mean you want to give us the ability to lock down units for even longer?

Took us like 10 minutes to win our attack games, 30 minutes is plenty of time.

The time is about right to rush. When you wanna try outlasting PuG vs PuG in a Range Duell how it is possible on Boreal the time is not long enough.
Posted Image

We were long time ahead in Kills, but the last 5min wen't sauer. A couple tried to rush when there was no point in doing so, since all Gens were up. Idk, but i would really like to see the time goes up by 15min. With Premades are done in 10min zerging down omega 30 minutes feel overwhelming long. But rushing would not make a difference i guess. Since Atkers who rush the base are done when they are done. Uping the Gametime do not kill such strats, but it would help outlasting matches.

I've already reported this sham of a poll. But you can also hit that report button too. Shame on the OP for flipping the answered around. The YES option was originally first, but he changed it to NO in order to get the results he wanted. It's a Potemkin village poll.

Due to the fact that we received lots of reports because of the poll and the thread opener manipulating the awaited results, I will ask all readers of this thread not to vote anymore. The result of this poll has no validity.

Thread will stay open for discussion about the topic... and only the topic.
