It is kind of awesome that I found this post. I was looking around as I thought of a close idea like the one the OP mentioned. I my version, it would be when every one readies up for battle and during that time frame in the above idea, random teams at random intervals (completely random is what I am getting at) are put into Clan mechs. They don't keep them, they do get to customize them, but the pilot them for that one match. It would be a *** moment and well crud...lets do this, type situation. Of course, this is all not knowing how they are going to release clan, or if they even will, but I like the OP's idea. Nice that I found this post, still keep on finding some good stuff in these forums after wading among the repost/troll wash. Good stuff WAVE, something different and potentially fun. GLHF

I would guess that they are not set up for 24vs 24 but it could drop int a 12vs 10 clan for each side
I like the idea for "Operation Revival", but if the game is limited to only 12 vs 12 games, have the 10 clanners drop in once the two teams have worn themselves down to 12 active mechs.
ie: 10 fresh clanners vs 12 warn IS mechs, even a crap AI should manage to carry that for a high Clanner win rate per match. Of course, if the IS mech's poilets are worked up, they will still be fighting between themselves while the clanners just walk through (ie: Friendly fire stays on)

Problem: No one would want to fight, to stay alive and in top shape for the Clan land...

IMHO, I prefer that the match starts with the clan on the field and the 2 enemies teams become allied... The dramatic, dropship entrance will be interesting the first few times, but after that, most player will wish for a skip button, I'll bet...
However, they could make it a random event: When you join a PvP match, you don't know if it will be a 'classic' 12 vs 12 PvP or a 'Clan' PvP...
Clan PvP could be, for example, a 10 Clanners vs 14 ISs, but IS players would be separated in two teams of 7 mechs at each opposite sides of the map, to simulate that they was supposed to fight each other initially... Or, if too complicated, Clan too at an advantage or the map is too small to do that, it could be a simpler 10 Clans one side vs 14 ISs on the other side...
The important (and interesting) thing is, you don't know what kind of PvP match you're into until you're inside the cockpit of your mech...
PS:
Keep in mind that Clan mechs are vastly superior technologically and in firepower, so they should be inferior in numbers to compensate. Even superior in number, it should be quite an feat for the IS team to win... The win/loss ratio should be obviously in favor of the Clan. However, killing a clan mech should gives more XPs and C-bills than its IS counterpart, to compensate...

Agreed, that would be a big problem as most players would just camp at their base.

I was actually meaning that the 2 Clan Dropships would land in Real Time when the match had started, and that the players would be able to see the Clan Dropships landing if they looked to the East & West while they were moving to engage their IS foes (soon to be allies). This should make players stop in their tracks as soon as the Incoming Message and Dropships Landing occur.

Agreed, it needs to be a rare and random occurrence, so that it has the element of Surprise & Shock when it happens.

Hopefully the Devs see this thread and take it into consideration for the Clan Introduction, as the the Clan Invasion really does need to be truly EPIC when it finally does happen in this game.
