The Catapult is a niche mech however I suspect that once the fire control modules start coming in-game thereby increasing LRM accuracy, good catapult fire support players will be in in good demand with most groups.

The Artemis IV will not make you more accurate, they will launch slightly more missiles.

How does that make sence? The Artemis IV FCS just increased your chances of hitting with more of the missile tha you fired. It shouldn't increase the number of missiles fired. And since the videos show missiles hitting the ground around mechs, I'm pretty sure this option isn't that hard to manifest under the current set-up.

Oh...and if I can get a founder's pack, I'm going Catapult...and then I'm buying my jager and seriously upgrading that thing.

For what it's worth... of the four Founder's 'Mechs, the Catapult and the Atlas are manufactured on worlds currently belonging to the FedSuns side of the FedCom (Corey and Robinson, respectively), while the Hunchback is being manufactured on the Lyran world of Coventry.

Corey falls to the CapCon sometime between 3054 and 3057 and the FedCom breaks in 3057 with the secession of the Lyrans, so the Atlas is the one that best retains a measure of being "made in the Federation" into the future.

Personally I'm hoping at some point to get a Marauder IIC http://www.sarna.net...auder_iic_2.jpg

But for the starter mechs I'm looking at the catapult first, but that may change depending on what becomes available. (was on vacation and missed the last of the founders packages...)

The Founders Program expired on October 14th (four days ago), and the Founders Packs are no longer available.

The Devs have stated that there may be other programs of a not-too-dissimilar nature in the future.

I'd vote Atlas and Centurion for being the most "In spirit".

The Jenner and the Dragon are more traditionally DCMS and more than a few of are mechs are rather 'generic' in the sense that they date back to the Star League era.

With some tweaking, you can make the Founders Hunchie into an Enforcer, a staple of Davion mech forces, minus the Jump Jets of course.
