Because taking acreenshots from high end ELO players is the way to get a accurate measure of Cbill income being reasonable

Since everyone is capable of getting 6 kills in a game in a dire wolf/ timber nevermind a locust not just a TINY % of the playerbase.

/ end sarcasm

But yeah lets talk about the masses not the odd lucky game when you get frown into a game so mismatched you can actually make some money.

This video right here is a prime exampe of what I mean, Public Q doesnt pay well enough for what we do......

200K? For all that? really? That is a 400K game imo......200K is for 300-600dmg 300K is for the 700-1000dmg, anything beyond that should just start to triple in money made per damage point....

The commentary in that video was atrocious. But I digress.

I agree that rewards 2.0 is all over the place. Pure damage dealing and killing results in low income, and should get a boost.

I have found that I get my highest income games with LRM boats with TAG, simply because the combination of high damage, component destruction and tag bonuses boost c-bill income considerably. If PGI could figure out how to improve that for direct fire mechs, things would be a lot more fair.

I like Yeagers and mediums as a rule. They tend to be what I want to drive.

If I grind which is a lot I am driving high dps builds/assaults. They make the money. I get a lot of 130-150 match scores with them. Maybe 3 out of 10 matches. In the mediums not so much. Its a special time when i do.

If you cannot see how that just screws noobs and casuals your pretty dense.

We need to think in terms of what the new players get. Its crap usually. Have one guy I just got into the game. He averages 70k after a 100 or so matches. That's piss poor.

I couldnt hear the dialogue, I was just there for Warhawk action. The ending credit gen vs the damage and effort and kills just seems to low, this vid just seemed to really accentuate that fact.....

Perhaps there needs to be a "Per Weight class" rewards system, with certain tasks resulting in higher payouts based on the task and the weight class.

IE: Heavies get like 3cbills per pt of dmg while an Assault gets 8cbills.

A light or medium get more for flank reward then an Assault or heavy does.
A Light using AMS gets more reward vs an Assault
Light ECM reward is 4x higher then if an assault has it.

But idk...1st I suppose the rewards should just be doubled from their current values.

Mechs are supposed to be epic and worth blood, sweat, love, and tears. This game isn't meant to be pokemech, were you easily collect a hundred mechs in a few hours of play.

Then why the hell are you forced buy THREE variants of the same chassis in order to unlock the Elite skills? :\

You really have reading compreension problems don't you? ;)

Coincidentally your own screenshots imply you have a problem with the truth.....

"brah" (whatever that means)

PS: Afraid I can also pull out a series of 400k+ battle screenshots w/o hero mech bonuses but you're deliberately missing my repeated point that anyone can do that if they bother to try instead of just whining.

As has been said :)

Every free to play requires significant play time to obtain the resources needed to buy and upgrade in game assets. Period.

I managed to play about 75 or so matches in the stocking stuffer event over the last 2 weeks (Only 62 managed to qualify for prizes). I was running with premium time and managed to make about 16 million cbills ... that is somewhere between 11 and 15 hours of game play at between 5 and 7 matches in an hour. I was not using hero or other cbill bonus mechs since I was actually grinding XP on other variants for something to do.

Finally, the primary way to reduce the grind in games like this is to spend real life money ... in this case either on buying hero mechs to increase cbill earnings, premium time ... or just buy the regular variant you want with MC (I did that early on at least once).

So ... if you enjoy playing the game, "the grind" isn't so bad and cbills will accumulate over time. If you find it still takes too long, you spend real money to make it go faster or directly buy the mechs you want.

When I have a great (average) match with 2+ kills 6+ assists and 600 damage

Then see my base reward is like 115k....

Something is wrong.

400k should be normal for someone with premium+hero

200k should be normal for someone without either, on an average match

At these rates a freebie player could master 1 mech a month playing 2 hours a night

Sounds reasonable to me. That doesnt even count modules.

5 Matches to make a million (without premium time) sounds MORE than reasonable, most people only have time for 5-10 a night if they have any time at all.

premium time costs serious money, it should make the grind fairly painless

As it is the grind is only BARELY tolerable with all the premium\hero trappings

I have no idea. I don't like it at all.

I'd rather have one chassis then have to level that to a point where I can unlock other variants. Then have a c-bill and/or MC cost to unlock those variants. Kinda like building a character in other RPG MMOs (or like Skyrim's skill system) but with mechs instead.

That is one of several reasons why there is so much LRMage in pugland. The bonuses.

Go run two scouts. One outfitted for fast attack where you are meant to backstab and pick off stragglers. You can get some bonuses for a timely UAV and the occasional flank or hit and run but not a lot.

Now do another set up for LRM support with NARC and TAG. Bonuses out the wazoo.

They are most definitely in different income brackets.

Have had countless games in fast strike lights and taken out a full lance of the opposing team and have gotten tiddlywinks for the effort. Just doesn't seem worth it most of the time. And that's running a mech with bonuses.

So people go where the money is. LRMing or LRM support (but most go with the former).

Can't blame them for doing so.

That sounds better, but it's really not, as it just creates a different kind of grind, especially if the variant you want is locked. And, of course, the simple way for PGI to exploit it would be to make all the "good" variants locked, thus forcing players to grind the "crappier" variants to get the good ones.

Seriously, we have soooo many Mechs now, and soooo many modules on which to spend our money, and with CW, you're likely going to buy multiple copies of the same modules for different Mechs. There's more than enough grind and tedium in the game without having to buy other variants to unlock the Elite skills.
