With CW here, I'm hungry for more Role Playing builds for the Combine. The Hatamoto is one of those mechs where you know which faction it belongs to on sight. More than anything, I'd love to see what MWO could do with such a visually detailed and themed chassis...where you at Alex?! :)

It's an Assault(so new territory for me), weighing at a drop deck friendly 80tons. It has several variants: 27U-Hi(Energy), 27T-Chi(Energy & Missiles) and 27W-Ku(Energy & Ballistics).

It would be interesting to see faction exclusive mechs (Reward for high rank in Kurita, for example)

I would hate to see these being used by any other faction though.

My favorite Mech. The Hi variant with dual ppcs and quad medium pulse lasers would be killer.

Agreed! Though I'd have to experiment with trying to mount an AC20 onto the -Ku. For sheer brutality's sake, maybe even an LBX-10.

So we'd have to just pry them out of others cold dead hands!

As much as I'd like it to be Combine locked for CW, I'm not sure how likely we'd be to see this mech if it had to be a LP purchase. With all due respect, PGI needs to be able to make a return on the time and resources required to make these. Not so much because the production is expensive, but that the time and resources is valuable in that it could have went into something else that provides income.

But perhaps it can be sold like normal, but just Combine locked in CW...with or without an LP requirement to field it in a drop deck. Frankly, I'd like to see certain "poster boy" chassises locked to certain Houses and Clans in CW....or at the very least, provided additional quirks when used in "house".

But then if we managed to park a Hatamoto on top of a King Crab, we could reenact this Warhammer 40k meme!

I don't believe the Hatamoto carried a sword, that being said, Combine chassises with swords could at least have the sword mounted/sheathed on the mechs waist or back for aesthetics...to awesome and dramatic effect! I can careless about using the swords, but half of the appeal for these Combine builds is the Pomp and Circumstance!

Even without melee in the game. Still want.

It would be a Hero variant in MWO:

•HTM-28T Hatamoto-Chi Shin

A complete rearmament of a HTM-28T, only the C3 Slave remains. A gauss rifle is fitted in the left arm with three tons of ammunition riding in the left torso. The left torso also holds six medium pulse lasers. The right arm carries a large sword. Triple-Strength Myomer greatly increase the damage done by the blade. Only ten double heat sinks are used, allowing the TSM to remain active.

I'll take it! Just mount the sword somewhere for flare...like off the left hip. It can be considered part of the left leg...with an appropriate increase in its armor and internal structure. Increase the internal structure in the right arm for the Triple-Strength Myomer for a boost in Side Torso shielding while twisting. Gimme, gimme, gimme, I haz money!

Pfft, we would use that mech merely to test the sharpness of our blades.

Heck, I'd like to see the Charger series in general.

There's the stock (horrid), 3025-era variants (some of which ain't bad at all, one of which is the LL equivalent to the Awesome), the -1A1 jump capable missile/energy upgrade, and then of course the Hatamoto rebuilds.

A Hatamoto is what happens when you take a Charger and Thug, mash them together, and give them a badass samurai refinishing. Fast, well armed, and nasty at all ranges.

And?...I wouldn't care if it was Transformers...it looks awesome! After Alex gets done with it, it'll be Awesomous-Prime.

And?...it looks awesome!

let's just say, looks are subjective. It certainly doesn't really fit the rest of the BT aesthetic leading up to it. And the overly stylized look of much of the later Btech art, a lot of us found a bit of a turn off.

And TBH, never cared for the Getter Robo / Gundam school of Mecha. Always preferred the more rugged looks of Dougram, Votoms, Macross, etc.

The hatamoto would be nice for kurita immersion. But I also would not mind seeing the thug mentioned earlier, especially if there was a gunslinger hero for it!
