Community Warfare only voice chat. That's it.

This would allow pugs to organize themselves and would remove the biggest advantage of premades.

Ahahahahahahaha!!!

Oh wait, you're serious?

You do know that CW has, for a long time now, been focused on Unit play?

Also, since most Units use TeamSpeak 3, a third-party system, there isn't really a way for PGI to implement your suggestion.

I understand that and regularly drop with my unit. Just saying that if they implemented that, the pugs would suddenly realize that the main reason they lose is there is no organization.

Not sure why team speak eliminates the ability for pgi to add in game voice chat.

They know that, or they are blithely ignorant. Very unlikely VOIP would change that status quo.

That being said....I would not mind VOIP, if and only IF I can ensure it is disabled on my end so I do not have to listen to certain types of internet gamers.

It certainly could not hurt the game to have it (assuming that one caveat was in place).

oh totally agreed. thankfully even in the pug games I have played, I seem to find people who want to win rather than those dicking around so while it will occasionally be a problem, it would be less than normal drops.

While I agree that voice comms would help - don't kid yourself and think that this will magically make pugs able to compete with teams that specifically set their dropdecks for a specific task.

Consider this: if boating weapons to bring maximum damage at a given time, is considered the strongest way to build a loadout - what do you think Boating mechs does to a team when you know before hand the range which engagements will take place?

Every faction has a TS already setup. Use it. Or go to NGNG. Or go to Comstar. I certainly don't mind if a CW Voip was implemented (as long as I can disable), but the tools are already free and available. In fact, I think it would be far more useful to employ the faction and team TS's already in place rather than set up an ingame voip. By using the pre-existing tools you might accidentally create coordination and teamwork.

It doesn't. You said restrict it to in-game voice chat. "Community Warfare only voice chat" implies that you would like to see in-game only voice chat, thereby excluding TS. You can't do that because TS is not a PGI company and is not connected to the game.

If what you meant to say, but botched in the telling, is that you would like to see in-game voice chat as a feature, then I totally agree and suggest you edit your original post to make this more clear. That being said, the addition of such a feature will hardly help pugs against a pre-made. Throwing a bunch of cats into a bag and giving each one of them a walkie-talkie will not make them competitive against a Navy Seal Team.

It will help a alleviate the confusion and enable them to coordinate on the fly, but it won't enable them to defeat a superior team that brought pre-battle prep to the table and probably has a greater pool of skill.

The issue isn't so much being able to talk and communicate as it is groups knowing how to work together and or being willing to work together. You can have an awesome 8 man group and if the other 4 people are just diddling themselves and refuse to listen it can go to hell. I communicate all the time through team chat with those we drop with if they aren't on team speak. Vast majority of the time they do not listen regardless. Also if you have played on games where there is team chat enabled, most people mute it. People who are not already on team speak, or with a clan, or actively trying to communicate are not people that would communicate if there was in game built it. Those types are going to do what they want regardless.

Problem is...you can only coordinate if people want to coordinate, with or without any kind of communication. A unit by its structure/exclusivity mandates coordination and direction. 12 random pugs who can all talk to each other doesn't mean that all of sudden pugs will be equal with 12 mans groups....

..it just means I will have to mute all those people because the last f**ing thing I want is to listen to other people while I *escape* into magical mech destruction land :) . I see no problem coordinating with text...its not like there are complicated strategies needed to win in CW or at all ever. People just need to actually do their jobs..,..

Command Wheel + persistent scrollable chat > coms

Even in a unit, I's hard to get people to pay attention on coms and being on coms with randoms sounds like every third game would involve me taking the headset off due to ether excessive whining or other obnoxious behavior.
