Is there a way to remove a mech from the drop ship, I can't seem to be able to simply remove a mech. I wish to try going with 100 ton assault and two heavies. I'm I missing something or does it force you to take 4 mechs?

Not at this time - you have to take four mechs with you

This would make sense per logic, but it would likely be abused by people who just want to drop one mech and then bail on the match.

No, though I think that players should be given the option to do so.

Everyone has 160-240 tons to work with in a 4 mech drop. You have to fill the drop deck to ensure balance of tonnage.

I haven't checked, but is the 160-240 tons based on Max chassis weight, or actual loadout weight?

the 160 to 240 is based on the chassis rating. If you go in underweight for a chassis you don't get credit for it. A 65 tonner only kitted out to 60 tons is still 65 for the CW drop deck.

I thought so, I just never checked. It would be interesting if it was based on loadout weight, as dropping in a undertonned king crab is pretty easy to do, and wouldn't hurt gameplay that much. It would be very easy to abuse though with bare bones locusts and kit foxes landing to make way for a 3x Timmy deck.

Yeah, I can see that happening.....

As much as Id love to bring just a few WHKs, I can see CW being overloaded with Assaults real quick....would be very boring very fast. CW is cool cuz there is a nice spread of mech classes.

you can have a 3x SC + 1 TB deck though. The SC is stronger overall than the bolt.

You can bring 1 mech at 100 tons, 1 mech at 20 tons, and 2 mechs @ 60 tons. Sure I personally like Cataphracts a lot more than Dragons, but that still meets your 1 assault and 2 heavy attempt you are making.

On another note, I think players bringing less than 4 mechs would cause major balance issues. Even if your 4th mech is a Locust with 1 MG, the presence of that 4th mech is a distraction and extra target. If your team finds itself trying to hold off a final push of a full 12 mechs and 2 or 3 of your teammates are out of mechs because they just didn't want a fouth, makes it much easier for the opponent to focus their fire.
