Sorry TKSax but I have to agree. You've largely used Merc units that you keep throwing at us resulting in us having to defend on days we're down on players, like today.

We've had issues with both Ghost Bear and Jade Falcon attacking us while you had no issues at all with the depleted Smoke Jaguars or us for that matter. And we don't employ Merc units and even if we did we wouldn't retain them if they started to attack other clans.

We'll take care of all your Merc units sure enough while pressing forwards once we get our members back from the holiday, but you can't claim ignorance to the fact having a bunch of pay for hire thugs is very beneficial. Especially if you want to talk about how many planets this frees you up to attack.

Ghost Bear by far has the most favorable set of advancement conditions but be warned that can change; especially since there are elements within other clans that could go rogue much like you allow your mercenaries to do.

So silly... How this thread reads-

CW:
"I'm distasteful of Ghost Bear's plausibly large community and I'm going to blame it on 'merc units' for 'joining forces'!

Meanwhile I'm going to use half-*ss attempts to reference lore, pseudo role-play as a pitiful argument to decry actions, game mechanics and denounce players rightfuly factioned with CGB as per game mechanics."

CGB:

"This is how it factually happened, get over it."

I smell puppy urine...

CGB uses 2 of the biggest merc units in the game to do its work for it.

Left without them, I am still certain the Honorable warriors of true Ghost Bear heritage would still manage at least equal our own headway into the inner sphere. Now, however, it is amplified by merc involvement. This is, honestly, the last post I think i can stomach where a Ghost Bear tag brags about their progress while decrying ours.

Get on our level, kid. Then come back.

Cough* miss informed cough*

STS who took 6 planets, 3 of which during the time MS was away, is less then 40 pilots with 30 being EU other 10 are NA with maybe 25 fully active... So yeahhhh...

bobF, I heard someone screaming that question over coms in a game I was in. Maybe it was you. I suspect you don't really care about the answer, and if that's the case, please don't hide your actions behind the question. If you want an answer, have one of your officers go into the Clan Wolf TeamSpeak channels, talk to an officer in each (but do not distract him or her much from his responsibilities), and see what they say. That's how you find out things.

My hypothetical god this stuff is gold.

^^^ This guy is arguing about honor and keyboard-warrior testosterone.

How can one attempt to form a serious response, full of straight forward insults, and click the Post button without remorse for hypocrisy?

I'm going to fetch a drink and continue to laugh at how cereal everyone is.

While we are at it, you guys should petition the mods for a role-playing forum where you can engage your enthusiasm in a less embarrassing manner.

Your lack of substance and contrary engagement leads me only to the conclusion that you fully agree with my observation. CGB welcomes you, kin.

RP should NEVER get in the way of quality PvP, imho, the merc trolls have a point there.

If i understand what you mean.. Who is to say that a 1on1 battle is not "quality PVP" ?

Besides, from what little intel i could gather, for a lot of time you Bears have indeed had the support of pretty large merc units that could attack other targets freeing the "regular" CGB units like CGBI to attack IS planets.

Besides, it is still holidays time. I have strived to do an average of 3-5 CW drops each day at least though.

However, i would like to remember how the first strike on a CW planet was on Christmas day and you still have not managed to take it..

You, CI and MS, are clearly mercenaries, so your loyalty is more than questionable (i wonder how units called "Star League Reborn" and "Clan Kodiak" could be part of a mercenary alliance while it would be in direct contrast with their identity..).

So i renew the suggestion other have made: if you really want more fights, there are still some good comp units in CJF i think, so you could join the Wolves to fight them instead of dreaming of taking a corridor trough our OZ. A foolish dream, i may say..

And if you really want to fight us, join back the FRR and try to stop our advance. Let us not waste more time over worthless backwater planets, quineg?

No you said we "Would" make headway as in we (CGBI, STS, other units that have been with CGB since the start of Community Warefare) have not had anything to do with CGB success up till now, I was showing you that that was not the case, that is all.

I know CGB would not be doing as well without the other Units that have been contracted with us, and I have no problem with it. I am a battletech nerd just like anyone else, but this is a mechwarrior game, PGI has set the parameters that allows units to come and go as the please with factions. Do I wish it was different, yes, but if the positions were switched I would not be complaining on the forums about it, I would just deal with it and move on. Also add to the fact that PGI has clearly said this is Beta CW I really would not bother me at all.

Wait, don't distract the neckbeard from his highly critical duties of chatting on comms, posting on the forums and being virtually self-important? The whole reason why I avoid serious unit membership and comms in this game is because of this kind of mouthbreathery. I'll give the kids and college students a pass, but grown men being all serious and proper about shooting giant robots? Just look at some of these replies.

I hope the collected legions of Clan warriors reading this post won't get too mad, but everyone is on a contract; the game mechanics are such that anyone can change sides as they desire. You can RP faction loyalty all you like, but some units are going to value conflict and PvP trolling more than imaginary treaties, chains of command, or the other real-life burdens people with empty real lives want to bring into the virtual world.

As for me, I'm an amused third party. I simply observe things and post my commentary here. I prefer Clans, don't plan on ever going IS, but that doesn't mean I won't try other Clans. Does a trueborn solo ronin Clan warrior hold true to lore? Probably not, but I don't really care, this is a PvP game. You too should consider that viewpoint, and when you do, the merc perspective on faction loyalty in this game makes way more sense. MS and CI could be trolling, or genuinely looking for good fights. Either way, the inter-clan crises breaks up the monotony and pug-stomping that ordinarily happens.

The dynamic nature of PvP keeps it interesting. Your virtual lives would be predictable and boring if it weren't for mercs, think about it. And don't get too mad.

Merc contracts, at the least for clans should be limited to long term and perm only. With the shortest duration being 3 months. Should the unit choose to break contract it should cost half the unit coffer. Too many of these units are perfect examples of "if you can't beat em, join em"

Yeah its funny that one day CI was the only one defending FRR from CW and CGB and then the very next day they were CGB taking FRR worlds.

Talk about piss-poor implementation.

I have NEVER faced a GB unit...only MERCS in all my defenses.

I'm not even sure they have ACTUAL GB units because i have never seen them! lol (jk, STS and CGBI are the only two i know off the top of my head)...only these Mercs in disguise trying to throw matches for the IS.

Really wish MERC were not allowed in Clans....but Money talks.

If only you would throw that war machine at Steiner.....

We will in due time :)
