If anything, a new vid card would help in the interim with running the game. And if you don't have to be playing at the highest resolution, you'll be fine. I'd love to upgrade before playing MWO, but I'm stuck with what I have. You could probably find something within the recommended specs that were posted for a decent price.

If you read through the rest of the thread, you'll see this commented on a couple more times. Sounds like a Quad Core (if possible) might get you more bang for your buck than a new video card.

It's a Notebook not the Famous E8400 but the P8400 2,26ghz with 3MB Cache.
The CPU power is something like the AMD 245e
And the GPU something like the 9600 GT.
So yes it will run, thanks to the 8GB ram.
But both parts are slightly below Minimum Specs. So FPS won't be great
So new Notebook or hoping that it will run.

and i want to know if i could run MWO with my pc. I have played Crysis 2, which runs on CryEngine 3 and it runs(barely) on lowest settings, although it sometimes slows down.

your going to need to upgrade your ram.... max it out if possible
you can make it easier by starting here http://www.crucial.c.../betheboss.aspx
Crucial is a good and relatively cheap manufacturer their is others like Corsair Patriot GSkill...
next consider getting a graphics card update
Getting a GTX680 wont be all that useful because you will be held back by your system but getting a GTX460 or GTX260would defiantly help... don't get anything within the NVIDIA series with the number bellow GTX(2-6)60 they are cheaper but also a lot slower... The ATI equivalent will also work

Elkarlo - now I understand. This is what happens when I make assumptions.
Just found out that I have to replace the flooring in my basement office.........no upgrades for me at all this year.

While the engine its self is on the same version "3" but that doesn't mean their were no updates to the abilities and features of the engine. You can see this in the old Mechwarrior 2. You can see the differences in the from the first dos version to the final 3dfx/titanium version.
VS
The developers can optimize the engine for higher performance in different ways. Graphically for example instead of making a model more detailed they might choose to put a texture on it with the detail in 2d instead. Their is a lot of ways you can optimize the coding of the game as well. One thing you might think about is that this is the first time IGP is using the Cry 3 engine so they may not now all the tricks. Crysis 2 developers wrote the code for the engine and would obviously know how to get the most out of it. (I'm not a game developer but I do know a little c/c++ matlab java).
Finally the best reason for you to upgrade is if you were able to run Crysis 2 at low-norm setting with some minor stuttering think about how that will effect your PVP game play... Their you are lining up an alpha strike... a two sec stutter and you miss. Your heat is at max your ammo is waited and now you have the full attention of the mech who was going to take that alpha strike to the face
