Foreign Transaction Fee?

I ha purchased numerous other things including MC, Premium Time, and the Wave 1 Clan Pack and have never received this fee before.
What's this all about? Has anyone else gotten it? Is this because of the way it was purchased?
This sort of thing would surely affect any future purchases. And yes I submitted an email to support.

Not sure about that since as far as I know the packages are denominated in US dollars. I'm not sure if they are actually sold from the US or not.
Extra fees would depend on the method you used to pay. My credit card only charges the exchange rate for example. On the other hand, some ATMs I have used charge an extra fee for the service. Depending on your method of payment, the payment company could be charging you a fee for service that is completely independent of PGI and out of their control.
On the other hand, if PGI's payment provider is charging additional fees on top of the cost of the packages from PGI then I would say that PGI needs to find a different payment processing provider or absorb the costs internally since the customer should be paying only the cost of the package itself ... not an additional usage tax to the company providing the payment service.

I bought with a CC from the US. I got an international transaction notice, though my CC company did not charge a fee. My bank does charge the fee. I don't recall whether or not PayPal charges the fee or not.

I only got the 2.99 with the most recent fee and Russ has stated that since the IGP split they have a new provider handling all payments.
It must be something this new provider charges.

I only used a debit card and not a credit card.
I'll probably find out if it's changed myself at some point this week.

This doesn't make any sense, I'm going to go with the person didn't know what was going on. PGI cannot charge another fee, that fee would have to come from the financial institution, otherwise this charge could be disputed. Also on your statement it would show that PGI was the one who billed it (or whoever PGI is using for the payment). Call your financial institution and ask what fee is charged for international transactions.

Like I said, I suspect it is not from PGI themselves but whoever is processing the payments for them. I only got hit with it on my most recent purchase which of course came after the IGP split and they got a new provider.

POS PURCHASE PIRANHA GAMES INC, and FOREIGN TRANS FEE PIRANHA GAMES INC. AS I have never gotten this before I would also assume its from their new "provider", and no I don't have issue paying "tax", that is included in the price not as a separate charge however, and it seems NOONE else was charged this?
And Im from the US so Canada isn't exactly that foreign.

Actually, some of us happen to use one-time use cards to make online purchases, with a limit of how much money can be drawn. Unspecified additional charges beyond what is asked for, aside from being gray at best (really depends on what's going on), can go over the limit, in which case I would expect the transaction to bounce.

Don't know what to tell you. I got a notice email from the CC company that an international transaction occurred. $120 was charged to the card and I was not charged a fee. If it were PGI's provider I would expect everyone outside of Canada to be charged the fee.

I don't know why you brought up tax..but I shouldn't have to pay tax. According to law at least . Basically digital goods from non EU businesses aren't taxed.
Which just made think of something interesting... placing servers in the EU probably would make a 'fixed establishment' and might have to register for VAT and have goods sold to the EU taxed.
Unless they use a non EU member state or some tax haven...
