Kerensky's Heirs Invade!!!!
It has come through the news networks that out in the periphery, the reports of large hostile forces invading from the Periphery were not exaggerated talk of pirate bands and marauding forces, but of full scale war against the Great Houses of the Inner Sphere!
Clan Invaders Claim to be Kerensky’s Heirs
The Invading Forces refer to themselves as the Clans, which they claim is the name given to them through their great founder, Alexander Kerensky. Kerensky, as history tells us, was the leader of the Star League Defense Forces who took the majority of the military forces of the Star League Defense Force out into the deep periphery to prevent the Great Houses from using his troops to attack each other. These Clan Forces have begun an assault along the Periphery against the Houses of Steiner, Kurita, and the Free Rasalhague Republic. Mercenaries and even House Mechwarriors from throughout the Inner Sphere have started sending troops to repulse these invaders and maintain order.
However, all is not united in the Inner Sphere. It seems that the Great Houses, noticing the opportunity to gain valuable planets and space lanes back from their longtime enemies are attacking the beleaguered Houses fighting the Clans. As a result, the various Alliances throughout the Inner Sphere have been shattered and all-out war has broken out. Hostilities that had died down after the 4th Succession War are reigniting and war is sweeping through the Inner Sphere once more.
Several Mercenary Companies are quickly signing on with various Houses, and reports have even trickled in that some mercenary units have signed on with the Invading Clans. The reasons for the mercenary commands are what they have always been: Fame, Glory, and the Almighty C-Bill. And with the hostilities becoming so prevalent, so quickly, there is much of each to be made by the mercenary commands.
Time will tell how this new war will affect the Inner Sphere and who may come out the victor in the renewed struggles. Hopefully, peace will return soon. But for now, stay tuned to the Comstar Chronicle as we try to bring you the latest news in the face of these overwhelming new developments.
