He probably didn't know that, actually. Old men here are mostly clueless.

If it hasn't been changed for the Shadow Hawk after all this time, it isn't getting changed for the Pirates Bane.

Think of the flash as a character flaw :)

Or, offer a Muzzle Flash Suppressor Module for 3 Mil C-Bills lol :)

If only it was actually smokeless... now in comparison to most black powder, it is hardly any smoke at all, but it is not smokeless. ;)

I imagine by 3050 they could figure out how to shoot bullets with little smoke.

Natural Gas cartridges? I'd think any powder/grained combustible would produce some smoke. I'd assume the wide range in which the cartridge would need to easily ignite would create a large range within the ignition spectrum in which combustion would not be optimized and so not very clean...plus, those combusted particulates have to go somewhere.

I went in to testing grounds with two loadouts to test.
1. 4x SPL
2. 4x SL + 2MG

Between the two I was able to kill an Atlas target several seconds faster with the first loadout despite the SL quirks.

So the question is, why would you even be using a MG loadout?

Yeah, it's called a Gauss Rifle.

I thought the same, but then I thought I would have to go into light gauss too. But since they had regular ballistics anyway too, gun powder still exists. But it still exists in 3050 because it's SciFi written 30+ years ago based on author's understanding of technology, and also that tech needs to be relatable to the audience, and then...I just got tired and my brain started to hurt, and I was afraid I'd get in a big conversation/debate on it....*sigh*...so ummm...yea.

Hey, I would have been able to accept a rapid fire Guass MG. But it would have to heat up the mech.

whether or not there is a possible powder/gas/gel that could be used to have a flash and smokeless gun. from a health, gameplay, and other standpoints the flash needs to be toned down a bit. They don't gotta tone it down to invisible, just not blinding the pilot firing them.

Sure would be nice. I once shot a Unit member in the back and got a TK in my Piratesbane. I was blinded by the flashes and didn't see him step between me and my enemy. His back was wide open and we can all guess the rest of the story. I've actually considered just pulling the MGs and adding in DHS to keep the lasers cooler.

Oh I'm well aware that smokeless powder isn't totally smokeless, but the MGs, which are more likely firing 12.7 mm rounds and not the massive 30 mm of the GAU-8, aren't going to produce huge clouds of smoke.

Going to be more like this:

Its pretty bad, I can handle it on a day map, but on a night map it makes it pretty much impossible to properly gauge the movements of an enemy.

Ignore quirks, add 2 MPL and 2 ML, profit.
