Not in this case. Endo and FF is just being restricted/blocked when it should not be. It just creates too much imbalance that Quirks can't address. I can accept the locked Engines because you get the value of the engine.

Lets look at the whole Picture,

Mechs with Endo that will not Change,
Lights(MLX)(KFX)(ADR), Mediums(IFR)(SCR), Heavies(TBR),
so to recap the SCR/TBR will not be buffed by this change!

Mechs without Endo that will Change and gain more Tonnage(+Number=ExtraTons)
Mediums(NVA+2.5), Heavies(MDD+3)(HBR+3)(SMN+3.5), Assualts(GAR+4)(WHK+4)(DWF+5)
so to recap the DWF gets the most Benefit from this, but it already has more Tons than it can use!

so Clans shouldnt get anything until they Nerf,
1) a mech that hasnt come out yet and we dont know how big it will be?
2) a 55Ton Medium that is very Very good but not too hard to kill if you know where to shoot?
3) a 75Ton Heavy that is the Cream of the Crop in use, that has a JJ animation Problem?
um i dont know about the first, but the other 2 are Very Good, but not OP,
just as hte FireStarter is Very Good but not Fully OP,

@Bishop
i did the break down of what Unlocking Endo would do,
and for what Omni-mechs if you wanted to Add it to Page1?

Then I could easily fit Endo and FF.

Biggest reason I feel the HBR benefit less than the doomsayers claim, is mos to do the best builds already run hot as blazes and already use all the hardpoints anyhow. Almost every build I can theorize for the HBR will be adding DHS, and on some, the endo eats up the needed crit space to do that.

It will certainly help, but HBR is no the god tier mech some claim it is. ECM and the high e-points do help it be a very solid 2 tier, borderline 1, though.

No matter if the Bad Clams aren't affected by those robots...other than never being used again.

<looks into His crystal ball> The Arctic cheater is going to be the dominant light mech when it comes out. ECM and 6 laser hardpoints. And you already agree with me about the other 2 mechs. If you think the Direwolf isnt the best Assault, for CW, then maybe it has been too long since you ran IS Assaults.

Well, I guess Clans arent happy till they have the best mechs in every mech class.

well, I'd argue that quirks could address it... But honestly, just giving up on fixing any other balance issues via tacking on quirks is looking worse and worse all the time.

I kind of like how currently, IS mechs feel all specialist, while clans are much more flexible. Quirking clans will remove some of that flavour, when simply unlocking ES would remove a lot of the need for them in the first place.

You sure about that?

Pretty sure stalkers win, especially once you get a nice hill.

Arctic Cheetah is unreleased. Put away the nerfncalls.

Timberwolf and Stormcrow should get some sort of nerf, and are getting one, in the form of the cXL engine nerfnerf. Sadly, that nerfs the bad Clam mechs too.

But regardless... Why can't the bad mechs get fixed? Its not like that would give clans more of an advantage. After all, in CW you can run tbr/3scr. Less bad Novas and Summoners only make it so IS players can get some variety in what they fight agaibst., and clan players can get some variety in what they fight in.

Direwolfs as the best assaults in CW? What a joke. Their slow speed cripples them on the large maps, and their tonnage severely constrains drop decks and forces Clam players to pair their DWF with a Mist Lynx or some other garbage mech.

McGral makes a great point here. The Stalker has good hotboxes, and brings substantial firepower at a lower tonnage and thus lower opportunity cost.

When people complain about the Direwolf in CW... do you even play CW? I rarely see any Dires in CW because the Dire outright sucks on those large maps. You need 5 minutes to get to the frontline and if you try to snipe anything you get shot apart because you can't dodge bullets. I would even prefer the Gargyole over the Direwolf in CW.
It might be acceptable on defense but it still gets shot apart because of it's profile.

What we need is a slight nerf for the Stormcrow and the Timberwolf and a individual buff for everything else because the gap between the Timber/Crow and most other clanmechs is to steep.

I concur with main post.

Make it an option to add FF or Endo on those without, but force fixed hardpoints like the other omni-mechs.

Also support the idea that those mechs already graced preemptively with these upgrades can not remove them.

Well if they add ES or FF it would be important to lock those slots - not because of balance because of flair the Is BMs never got.
More important make it less damaging to the TRO so if the Gargoyle is supposed to carry a Lb20x in the arms 2-3 ES / FF slots would be bad.
So before lock check the Recordsheets - Ok they should use commom sense - Gargoyle Conal with Srms in the Torso and empty left arm - c'mon really?

I think everybody who would like to see this change of free ES/FF for the poors, agree to lock it on the chassi. Out of my messing around ES/FF and some other locked things on clan mechs only derp my toying with the TBR. So it isn't a deal if it been done well. Hopfully PGI don't mess it up like the WHK DHS ST *brrrr*.

Only time I see CWFs in CW, at least see them making a contribution is on some "Defend" Dropdecks.

Otherwise, yeah, I don't know any of the serious units that run them on attack, counter attack, etc.

LOL. (Not laughing at your or comment, which I agree with).

It's funny, I've been saying this for half a year and being roundly burned for it, now I'm starting to see more and more people saying the same thing. Wonder what's changed, that others are seeing it, or what?

Amen to this..and then double check. I forget, does the dragon have it's LA lower arm actuator yet in mwo? (or was it the hand?) I have to admit to not checking, but I remember that being a running joke for quite some time in the early days.

You might not know this but in CW you get to chose your drop deck. When you are in defense you dont need to waddle your way anywhere. If you cant kill a Stalker with your Direwolf and another mech or two, you might need to get some more practice in.
