Help With Zombie Atlas?

Wanna keep it to the D or K since they are the ones coming up on sale. I currently own the D-DC, S, RS(C), and Boars Head.
None of them are set up for zombie and would love some input!

Go for the K since you already have all the good ones ( s and ddc ) if you want some challenge.

Is it really? Honestly I didn't know. I will check out some builds around the forums for one than.
I kinda felt like the K stuck out simply because of the dual AMS

has the best quirks for range stuff.
I run mine to have 2 AMS, 2 med pulse , 2 ppc, 1 ac 10, and an LRM 20 and the quirks make that work quite well (if you want to follow the quirks strictly then remove lrm and ac 10 for gauss)
But some people complain about stuff like low mounts.
I just want an atlas like in the trailer for mechwarrior revival animation or the one in MW4.

Stop, why even consider the K when you can have the D if you are thinking of Zombie Atlas?
The D has more hardpoints, quirks for AC20 and SRM6's. It does the original Zombie Atlas really well. 2x LLAS, 2x MLAS (or a third LLAS), AC20, 2x SRM6's with artemis.
The K has less hardpoints and quirks for Gauss and PPC's. True, the K is a challenge but with those quirks not a zombie IMHO, more a ranged agressor and that's tough with clan weaponry out there.

Not sure why you'd want another Atlas if you already have four of them, but of the D and K, the D is the far superior platform. Anything the K can do, the D can do better, with the exception of carry two AMS. There are a number of things the D can do that the K cannot.

So I am running something pretty darn close to full mode Zombie builds on my Atlas simply because I play them to push into the the hostile battle lines and caused mayhem and destruction... that involves a whole lot of close range brawling, so that's what the builds are.
Here's the trio I have going (NOTE: Fiddle with armor ratings to your liking!).
Atlas D-DC: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8655d71912cb3d8
Atlas D: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4e4517100a82736
Atlas S: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c06937520e307f9
These are really the best variants for this kind of stuff, but don't let that dissuade you from using the others for the same purposes, you might have to forgo the quirks on other variants to some extent to do so however.

Never waste money on the -K. It's a terrible platform. Unless you're getting super hammered by LRMs, in which case I'd tell you to learn to use cover better or bring a D-DC. The twin AMS is not worth the harsh drop in firepower.

I am here to tell you different. K is my best Atlas, not necessarily because it does anything other Atlas' can't (except dual AMS, which has its usefulness) but because the K can't do things other Atlas' can do. It really made me stretch my imagination a bit building an effective K. What I ended up with was 1xAC20 + 2XLPL + 1ML + 2xAMS with a standard 360 engine. Not what I would have done in any other Atlas, but it works quite well in combat. I suppose you could maximize it for the quirks by switching my loadout for Gauss/PPC. Never regretted buying the Atlas K.
