I just disconnected from a game where the clans were literally spawncamping the Inner Sphere as they came in on the dropships.
I'm not exaggerating, they were killing each of them before they had a chance to power up and move.
Neither team was a twelve-man or anything.
It was on Sulfurous, and they used Gamma gate.

... and your point?
Clans can do this to Innersphere.
Innersphere can do this to Claners.
Attackers can do it to defenders.
Defenders can do it to attackers.
It can be done on both Sulphurous and Boreal.
Balance in this regard is fine - don't let yourself get into this situation to begin with. If you do, you deserve to be spawn camped.

I assume you dont have a team, friends in game or a clan? There a many units out there. Try to find one that fits your needs or just join a public Teamspeak or other voice comm. This game is not meant to play alone, it makes more fun in a team.

I've been on both sides of this situation.....in fact, I'm on it FAR more when my team is supposed to be attacking.
Want to know what causes it? A team that is either unwilling or unable to accomplish it's goals. This happens frequently in solo PUG drops. Your team knocks down the gates and then stands around outside, waiting for red triangles to fling LRMs at. Noone is interested in going inside....or, if they do, they go in one and two at a time, only to feed the beast.
Your team fails to rally after respawning and just feeds itself back into the fight, one at a time. Eventually, the enemy (the guys that are supposed to be on the inside) just comes out and picks you off as you respawn.
If this is the case, you kind of deserve it. Granted, there's nothing you can do to make guys like that actually get the point and do their jobs....but, they're also the ones you've got to carry in the solo queue, so you should already be used to it.

Try taking Company Command next time and issue out orders to each Lance... communicate through in-game chat to coordinate. Otherwise... you get a bunch of players running around like PUGs waiting for something to happen, then push blame on their team. Inaction is the greatest failure... action is the ultimate goal.

Over running one spawn area inside the defenders base and denying them reinforcements from it is a very successful strategy and no different to any resource denial tactic.
Until we get the option to choose dropsites* it will continue
*Pilot "Coming in hot!"
MechWarrior "Well go somewhere else"
Pilot "Sorry son, I'm tasked to this site and this one only. Good news is I'll see you in about 30 seconds, chin up!"
Mechwarrior "NOW HOOOOOooooooooooooooooo - boom -"

I've been in a spawn camped situation and it sucked. Sadly it was one of the worst CW matches I've had yet... it only happened once. During the wait time between matches while in queue is an excellent time to hammer out a basic strategy.

Soawncamping is not fun as one side has denied the ability to fíght back and simply is meat stock to slaughter.
This is bad for a game as it lowers the participation in said game.
There needs to be a secure Vault/Beachhead on small maps where the forces can gather up and try to make breakthroughs or random Dropzones on big maps so that the trickle in effect of the reinforcements does not automtically give the Spawncamper the winning guarantee.

I'd say implement something similar in fashion to BF4 where they don't allow the enemy within a certain range of the "spawn area" or Base CP. This still might not prevent long range weapons from being used against folks in the spawn area, but would allow them to have some protection so to speak.
