Do the developers ever plan to improve on the environmental hitboxes in this game? It is incredibly frustrating when you have a perfect shot in a heated battle only to be blocked by some poor invisible terrain hitbox. This game definitely has one of the worst terrain hitboxes ever.

HPG in particular appears to have been designed to infuriate the pilot of any mech with hard points below the cockpit.

After CW, map optimization should be one of the first orders of business. Probably.

Yes. Some maps have already had revisions. But I'd rather more work being put into new maps than revisions to the old ones (since we're still pretty low on total maps)

HPG had a slightly improvement on this. Yea, it is annoying issue and inaccurate, but for now there are more important things to do I think, but I would love to see an improvement on this in the future too.

This is frustrating, but at the same time any player with experience by now knows where the problematic areas are. Just imagine that the mesh is bigger instead of the hitbox being to big. The other way around basically and you'll be fine. I mean if you think about it, the obstacle is there, but you just can't visually see it. Doesn't make it any less real :).

sadly this is the case with enviroment its pretty bad, even something simple like gaps between pipes,
just take a screen shot and send in a bug report with the map and loc that F9

hopfully it'll be worked on, but they need to know the worse spots

<boss> Looks fantastic! We'll push it out next week. There's no way hitboxes are going to be a problem, right?
<map artist> Uh... what?
<boss> The hitboxes. People won't be crashing into stuff? Invisible barriers blocking their shots?
<map artist> Oh, I didn't really think ab- I mean, no. Err... definitely not.

I dunno. I want more maps, but there are some serious problem areas (HPG top comes to mind) that affect outcomes too often and would be worth putting some effort into.

The tunnel in forest. Lots of invisi-walls in that spot.

I'm pretty sure I remember Elite and Space Invaders having pixel perfect hit boxes...

I would suggest reporting all of them... but ultimately, it depends how much they are focusing on the next map (probably would be released between Thanksgiving and Christmas at this rate).

The biggest criminals on this point to me are

arg the one with the crystals, the dropship in the middle -.- I cant remember the name atm and Crimson Strait (the buildings you can see through but cant shoot through)

But I dont theink theyre doing ANYTHING but CW as all the requests for them to do anything else seems to be hitting "we dont have time"

Crystals = Tourmaline
Dropship in middle is probably Frozen City.

No Tourmaline was what I was thinking of. The big ring in the middle is a crashed dropship Ive heard

And when mechs get up on top of the crystals. They can shoot you you cant shoot them back.

I wonder if these terrain hit boxes are equally erroneous when seen from an external view or from the perspective of another player observing.

I wonder if some of these so called and hit boxes are actually symptoms of poor perspective/modeled player view point.

Just found out a good one. Mining collective. E1, the buildings by the edge of e2. The hit boxes are so messed up it caused a collision error and LAUNCHED MY JENNER ANOTHER FOUR OR FIVE HEIGHTS UP. Jumpjets where out at this point, So I come crashing down and lose half my leg armor and then almost get stuck IN the invisible wall. I:

Plus I keep getting caught on obstacles that aren't even there.

I thought you were talking of two different maps... although I kinda forgot there was a "dropship" (a "Sphere" of some kind). Oh well. The crystals will probably always have that... since there's a lot of that to comb through...
