I am opting out of MWO for the weekend. I enjoy challenges, but not when they add additional derp to the drops.
Not sure I understand your reasoning. You may as well get your three points and free premium time, then keep playing to take advantage of the premium time. I know I won't be putting in the 15-20 hours of playing time to get 30 pts, but I'll be on and playing for the lesser reward.

Expect CW to be a wasteland; you can't get 72 matches with players in 72 hours.

How can I get an assist if its 1 vs 2 and I have done no previous damage due to chasing the battle for the whole game. I ended up with 2 kills and 0 assists. Surely 2 kills 0 assists is > 1 kiill 1 assist. A kill is an assist that went too far!

if you end in a 1vs2 like that you made something quite wrong, adjust your tactics stick with teammates.

yup, going to be to impossible.
guess I'm done for the weekend. Solo playing isn't always very good teamwork wise but these tournaments ALWAYS bring the derp level up to 11.
I try...I really do but if others don't want to try then it is kinda tough. Usually we at least try in some way to work as teams and at least stick together but not now.

In the slowest mech on the battlefield -> Crab. Everyone ran off and left me unprotected rushing to get the kills. I just happened not to see any action until the score was 11-10. I had to kill both of them for the win. I have had matches on the ring map (terra therma?) where I have not seen any action for the whole match due to team running off and engaging/chasing enemies around the map. I just stomped around for the whole time. 0 Damage. 0 Kills. 0 Assists. Lots of fun them games are!

And it is deliberate marketing psychology, to make it worst. While I am impressed at the way the formula is varied, cold fact:
The farmers are out in force
A sub par player is only bait
Lasers are STILL only good for assists and the occasional luckshot kill
The event is simply a waste of RL time
Funny, I was just beginning to enjoy myself for the first time in a long time.
Aaaaaand same old same old ***** on a weekend.
I find it interesting though that events like this draw VERY good players who otherwise do not bother with regular MWO play. I never meet them normally, but there they are farming the hell out of the game.

everyone is way more agressive instead of passive.
fighting over kills instead of fighting over hiding spots.
nice challenge!

I played 3 hours straight tonight and scored 4 qualifying matches in that time. So I earned my premium time which is nice. Being on a winning PUG team continues to be the key constraint.
I'm not sure I can be bothered playing the other 6 to 7 hours at that rate to get the 30 qualifying matches, due to the bad player behavior the challenge seems to create around people holding back and then kill thieving.
FWIW I've been getting my kill and if the team seems certain to win, just powering down to let other guys get their kills. It costs me CBills but I think we need to help each get to the 30 kills when we can.

thats pretty good average odds...wayyyy better than the 1 in 10 at best of the last one.
and since most people are more agressive...you will know in 3 or 4 min often whether you are getting a point or not.
that is like 2 points an hour.
So 15 hours...over 4 days or so?
maybe 4 or 5 hours a day is too much. ..in which case yeah you get 3 days premium time...if people dont play enough for that to matter...then they probably shouldnt care about the challenge either way. So being mad about it seems silly.

Agree. Last one with the "And survive" task made everyone play very tentatively and team work went out of the window. This one everyone is getting stuck in but there are large numbers chasing easy solo kills and splitting the team and eventually losing the game. Very annoying. I have had a few "FUN" matches this evening. It didn't start well but I think people are realising they have to win the match too.

make the event run until Thursday instead of monday...but a timer of 3.5 days starts as soon as you play your first match of the challenge. So if you cant play until sunday say...you get from sunday til wednesday for example.
but if you play on friday it ends for you on the monday just like normal.
It might be more work to code it but then maybe not. It would at least appeal to everyone no matter when they can play.

i made 22 matches and 11 were counting, alservomit is still working, even with quite borked hitreg.
anyways what i noticed is people don't try to rack up epeen stroking damages anymore they do go for efficient and fast kills, which kinda feels a lot better because its like people really try to be efficient and do the tasks needed.
