And the ghost heat discussion? why, I mean give us true DHS 30 fixed heat treshold and let people alpha themselves into oblivion, because you don't need ghostheat to contain stupid alphas with only 30 heat treshold.
Im really not a fan of the whole 30 heat cap idea for 2 reasons:
It utterly ruins any heavy/assault mechs that do not run ballistics (i.e. all clan ones for a start, other than the DW of course) as with a 30 point of heat max alpha the ability to carry lots of energy weapons is pointless since you cannot fire them, which leads me to my second point:
The idea stems from TT where the heat cap is 30, but totally fails to take into account that heat in TT is applied at the END of the turn, AFTER all cooling is taken into account – i.e. in TT a mech can fire 4 PPCs and as long as it has 20 DHS its heat will be zero, no bad things will happen at all. What would happen if you fired 4 PPCs in MWO with a 30 heat cap and 20 DHS, even with no ghost heat? You’d shut down and get rinsed.
The only way I see that change not making Ballistics (AC5/Gauss) COMPLETELY dominate (and thus IS pretty much completely dominate) would be a complete radical change to the way weapons generate heat, i.e. you fire a PPC and it generates 1 heat per second for 10 seconds, not 10 upfront heat.

However all the stuff about Clan and IS quirks has me seriously exited!

I will shoot helicopters, turrets and infantry with my 4x ERPPC WHK all day long.
Crimson Strait could make a very nice series of SP and Coop MIssions....its a nice map for that.

UrbanMech IIC
Iam fine with bringing the walking R2D2 Version into MW:O
You know what, the idea that the mighty(giggle) Urbanmech could be used by both techs is a good one. No other mech though, but the Urbanmech could be the special exception to the rule. If they add an Urbanmech only solaris mode for instance then the serious Omni mech lovers wouldnt have to go to an IS only mech.
Great reply I hope they go with it.

Teamspeak work fine and I suspect a good deal of people will still be using it with a VOIP in place.

lol. So much for that Mech you promised back in beta days, eh PGI?
I'm sorry PGI/Russ, but I find this sort of insulting, considering back in the old days of classic MW games, those Developers were excited and enthusiastic to add as many variants/mechs as possible in their game, even if they happened to be similar to another one or weren't that useful. The Flea, for instance, was one my favs to mess around with in a MW4 Dragoon SP campaign. Plus, the game supported Stock Mode where it was different than a Locust.

I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of clan heros/champs because it means no clan mastery packs. And mastery packs are the best value if you want to learn a new chassis from scratch. I suppose they wont do it as long as a la carte is an option, & with ALC I suppose you do get an invasion chassis with the C bill bonus. But come on, whats cooler?
Natasha Kerensky's Direwolf with black oil finish paint
A champion direwolf prime
the JJ direwolf
or
Direwolf prime with janky invasion "camo" that looks like something that might end up in your toilet bowl after a night out.
2 regular direwolves
Seems like the clans losing out to the massive IS bias in the player base as usual. Never work with children, animals or freebirths, I say.
Still, pretty positive & exciting news, on the whole.
Also, "the game isn't crying out for more chicken walkers"!? HERESY!

It was mentioned in the Town Hall... just not a priority right now. They'd rather work on expanding content than refining existing stuff.
I don't know which I'd prefer. More content will be the lifeblood of CW... not sure that another map does much to improve Solo/Group Q though. Personally i think i'd perfer all the existing maps to be cleaned up and fixed.... that'd make the game immensely more enjoyable than 1 or 2 (possibly also broken) maps in the next 3 months.

That's about it now.
Didn't they say Decals were going to be part of the LP system (maybe that was in the reddit transcript)?

Well, MASC continues to be a big obstacle to the Flea. Plus with mechlab, many mechs (especially light mechs that mostly use missiles and energy weapons) are just too similar. If this game had a stock mode there would be more of a desire for them. But it looks like stock mode may be coming, so there is always hope.

Also I never was one for the Urbie-love, but I have to admit 360 degree rotation and a $20 package changed my mind. Well played.
