He's also outright lying about numbers to make the game look like it's dying. If he went away with a normal thanks.txt, nobody would have said anything. Instead he decided to take parting shots out of spite.
He may have done his fair share to help the game out, but he's basically undoing it all with the lies at the end.
He didn't lie about the numbers, the reason he isn't posting the source is simply to protect our recruitment strategy. Which has been more focused and fruitful than anything else I've seen from anyone in the last 3 years. The data is actually public. Also, your accounts are linked on the website and the game so one creates the other.
He may be jaded, but his data isn't flawed. I don't agree with his appraisal of the situation but calling him a liar isn't going to fly.
What he said about player retention is simply seen in your friend list. Unless you're lying or pruning it regularly, then you noticed that many old friends have not been online in months. Sure Xmas had something to do with it but that's not it. pGI, despite their recent boom in activity is still far shorter on maps and features than is needed to keep people focused. After 15000 games, you saw it all. Add to that broken mechanics (playing racing in a combat game...) and it makes you a little jaded and tired.
I hope he returns because he's a fantastic guy to play with but I can't blame him for the massive burnout.
