Yea and is CWI 62 members large? Yeaaaa i didnt think so. My point stands.

Oh and i know clanners are all about the past but you should really investigate this "bleed" you speak of because our net loss has been cut in half from a month ago and CSJ isnt progressing much without its horde of mercs.

Mainly due to some units splitting their efforts.

Ours and some wanted to stay focused on FRR due to the quality of fights. Others wanted to push Kur for the drive south.

I guess we will say screw it and focus our efforts.

Kurita has been net positive for planetary gains pretty much every day for the past month and a half.

Some days CSJ take a planet, some days they don't. Kurita takes 2-3 planets from Davion every day without fail.

Also, pretty sure we retook Yardley last night because we had no other targets to attack and we were bored.

you bored me last night. I yawned so much I decided to not try in that one fight When your friend said you guys would do something different I told him "you wont" and that is because you cant period. ill only give you guys credit for trying to use crabs and atlases in that one round. at least that was something I RARELY see in CW. I.S assaults had an edge before the patch came but you guys don't see it.

Sorry you were bored but we don't play for YOUR enjoyment. As long as my unit is having fun and taking planets, we'll keep doing what we've been doing. I have no idea what match you are talking about as I played several last night but our tactics vary greatly from map to map and depending on how much pressure we have from an upcoming ceasefire.

Unsanctioned attacks are a result of PGI forcing us to choose a House / Clan.

You know I saw someone once suggest something in one of the "how to fix the merc issue" type of threads that I thought made perfect sense for mercs. Do not require them to take timed contracts, allow them to have a "Merc Faction" which they could drop for other factions without contracts.

Here is a solution I put forth, but has gone unnoticed.....

http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4151464

The problem is that we as Mercs do not care about agreements between houses and Clans. (not to be taken as provocative) It is just what we are.

Maybe if some of you House / Clan loyalists read my thread, and comment, we can get a change happening, and hopefully this issue may fade into the black.

Just a thought.

Edit: It is a bit of a read, but not too much.

A considerable problem with that is the planet owner (holder of the TAG) will get to spend Unit Funds to upgrade Turrets, Generator Hit Points and such under the Logistics portion of Phase 3.

If Mercenaries can tag planets, it let's the defensive upgrades of whole swaths of Faction Frontier in the hands of someone liable to keep all Defenses low and then jump to the Faction across the border with the SELLING point that they have a whole swath of planets that will have ZERO turret and generator upgrades.

For this reason and others, TAGs need to go to the highest "win counter" scoring LOYALIST/PERMCON Unit IMO.

That is a very good point, however with the current system Mercs unless they have some level of loyalty to a faction (-MS- with CGB for example) are likely to do the very same thing. I guess to counter that units should receive incentives to pay for those upgrades. It will be hit and miss till we the community, Merc and Loyalist alike, and the Devs find a happy medium that all can be happy with.

EXCELLENT thread, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I did indeed add a small suggestion but the heart of your suggestion has many factors to its credit. Where Mercenaries give up a small measure of self-determination, they more than make up for this in ALWAYS being able to roll into a match within 2 maybe 3 minutes.

By having Mercenaries available for combat near instantaneously (given that somewhere across ALL borders there is a match likely to kick off if only for a handful of Units, your option ensures near continuous, Universal Employment for ALL Mercenary Corps Units - and this seems to be what motivates a fair portion of friction between Loyalists and Mercs, the Mercenary's desire to simply get into a match, ANY MATCH. Your suggestion finds ALL Mercenaries, as many matches as they can handle, and does it remarkable well.

Great Job!

lol that is the same story the Dracs are telling. And the Dave. I guess you will find a Fraggle or two who will claim just the same.

That is the argument AGAINST Mercenaries EVER being able to TAG a planet - no vested interest in improving through the expenditure of Unit Funds, the planets within their span of control.

A planet's TAG should fall to the highest scoring "win counter" producing LOYALIST/PERMCON Unit of those actually working to liberate a planet.

I think the biggest problem with this is that TAG'ing is such a high profile within the game means of distinguishing which is the best / highest-producing Mercenary Corps Unit. We just need other metrics to be made available to better identify the best Units:

1.) "CW Attack" Win%
2.) "CW Defense" Win%
3.) "CW Counterattack" Win%
4.) "CW Hold" Win%
5.) "CW Offensive" Win% (combination of 1.) and 4.) above)
6.) "CW Defensive" Win% (combination of 2.) and 3.) above)
7.) "CW" Win% (combination of 5.) and 6.) above)

And then of course there must be a HIGHLY visible means of displaying this data to best position it to compensate for the loss of Mercenary ability to TAG planets.

Hey ya know a little RP trash talk between HK and CSJ can never hurt? Most games between us are GG's in both wins and losses. I agree in that I'd like to fight you guys more often than we have but give it some time. The blood debt on the Davion border and their betrayal for the first 6 weeks of CW was deep. Deep enough that we decided to ignore the CSJ mercenary push from several weeks ago. Although to be honest, CSJ was already a force before the mercenaries as you are again. Hopefully we can fight on more even terms House unit to House unit to have honorable battles in which the outcome truly matters to us (CSJ / HK)

NS does have 26 planets which is impressive in that we are no where near the same size as many units. We are just incredibly active in CW and as an entire unit we are rather good (as are many CSJ units). We do lose to JGx and other CSJ at times and definitely to the full pro teams but all in all we fight with tactics, strategies and mech builds which suit our interests best and yes sometimes we lose to mixed CSJ teams. We have time and again acknowledged the prowess of CSJ as a whole. We know we can't just sleep fight on our northern border and typically we have to run our more experienced pilots when we fight here. That is certainly a compliment to you CSJ.

If it were practical from an HK standpoint, it would be fun to come here for 7 days to push back against Mercenary clan units for a week (we would never attack HK or other IS worlds) to reclaim planets. But alas my Timber and Stormcrow etc are confined to the public queue. :(

Thank you for sharing your rationale with us, CrockDaddyAoR.
(I have been known to be similarly expansive at times!)

I find it a sign of our mutual respect and indeed the aggregate respect our Clan/House have for one another, that we decide to share honest appraisals as well as communiques such as these.

I have also found the more we game the better we can anticipate each other's tactics and practices... NOW we are getting deep into the whole "ACTION, REACTION, COUNTERACTIONS" sequence of tactics evolution.

Example: 12 Inner Sphere Firestarters :|: begets :|: 3 Streak-Crows :|: begets :|: 3 ECM Spiders and 9 Firestarters

Each time one or the other makes significantly impactful change, it drives the other to respond in kind or look "out-of-the-box" for a ways or means to once again seize the Metagame-initiative.

Well, our group had fun the other night. Was nice to go back and forth for a couple rounds. I only wish we had our full group at the time. We had one pick-up player that was 4 of the 1st 10 deaths. That did not help us much in that match lol

There is no way that's possible. A month and a half ago would have been the first week of Jan. I mean I understand the need to ra ra ra your own team, but come on.

Just so you Kurita know. Prussian isn't speaking on our behalf of the entire CSJ Faction and hell no to his Role playing posts. Even I don't like what hes doing here either.

He is a prolific poster not shy about promoting his various points of view in his pursuit of glory for the Jaguar. It sometimes comes across that he speaks for the faction or certain units within it, but as his periodic disclaimers state, he does not claim so.
